Does anyone know how to get a bank account in Switzerland?

My daughter wants to go over there for a few months but the bank here is going to charge her 5.00 everytime she uses her interact card,, like they dont make enough money...arghh bankers!!!!

She also needs a work visa. can anyone make suggestions hoiw to do that too?

Those are the "Two Big Banks" and probably your safest bet. IIRC you need a deposit of 5,000 Swiss Francs to open an account with UBS.

There are other smaller banks, too but YMMV with them.

American Express traveler's checks are probably a better option than a bank account, though.

No theres no such thing as Canadian express.. theres travelers checks though...but she doesnt need to carry alot of cash with her.. you know.........safer in a bank.......

Well now she wants to be a air line attendent, shes got her First aid...nursing ,... experience. and shes a server.. food safe etc.. so where looking into that.. ahh to be 18 with so many choices eh... maybe ill get some cheap flight tickets..

 

I have an account with UBS that came as a 'free gift' when they took over PaineWebber.

There isn't any voodoo to it, it's just a very private bank account. Anybody can have one.

 

cool..well she changed her mind.. she wants to be a airline flight attendent now, we put a deposit down on the college and she has to pay 500 now and gets a 1000.oo bursery towards her tuiton, next is the 13,000, to do the course.....IM in,, I think its cool. she can do what she wants basically. school starts in sept, she has 7 months to either change her mind or earn another 3 k to pay for it.
