Anyone know of good hay?

Well guys, I'm looking for about 100- 150 small, (75 ish pound bales)of good, horse quality grass/ alfalfa mix hay, or some good, horse quality grass hay. I live in Hays, KS and the hay would be going to Parker, CO. I'm willing to go about 50 miles North, East, or South of Hays. And 50 miles North, West, or South of Parker. Or pick up along the way. If you guys know of any, just PM me.
Thanks,
Geoff Pelletier

and how soon????

I'd have to personally check it out. It's for a friend of mine that is rather picky about what her horses eat but she trusts my judgment. How much per bale? or per ton. What does each bale weigh? Was it put up and stored dry? Where are you located?

Well relatively soon. She's still got about 1 week left in what I got for her last year and she has about 3 weeks left of some really stemmy crap. So proabably about 2 weeks.

It was all up dry and stored in a barn i don't know what the bales will weigh... I will most likely unroll a big round bale and square that up... it will be fescue and brome mix.... i'm 300 miles or so east of you.. my problem is you not taking the load once i'm there...

Oh you'd have to re bale it to the small squares? Well you could email me some pictures of the hay. That would give me a pretty good idea on it.

I can tell you there isn't any good hay in this direction Northern CO/WY. All the hay either went to TX/OK for cows, was kept here for cows coming from TX/OK or was sold for horse hay at extremely high prices. Our main hay supplier this year sold his water to the oil field. I'm looking for 1-2 semi loads for next year, grass-small squares that I can use and resell to all my horse hobbiest friends. Good luck with your search..

I got plenty of big round bales in tx for sale if you make it this way.

Well if the hay was for me, i'd have no problem feeding the big round bales but it's not. she want's small squares ONLY.

1st_gen_puller 01-11-2012 10:05 AM

Yes i will have to unroll it and bale it back up which is no big deal we have the equipment to do it... and i'm gonna have to have 10 a bale unless your negotiable on the travel distance..

teamcowboyup 01-12-2012 05:21 PM
