Default Stuff today is built like crap with crap!

You know, I'm starting to get more and more pissed off as of late. Nothing is built to last any more. All this garbage coming from offshore is made to fall apart just so you have to buy a new one. We all know this. But what the hell can we do about it?

Big pissoffs....

Refrigerators. Back in the day they were built to last 25 years. Now they last 7 to 10 if you're lucky.

Hot water tanks. Gone through 3 in the last 13 years. They were bloody GE's too! WTF??

Now here is a big **** off...

Lawn mowers. Now when you spend 4K+ on a new lawn mower, You'd think it would be built to last. Yeah right! The tin foil deck is the first to go. Then the blade spindles die because you can't service the bearings.

Ford, GM and Dodge

Damn the big 3 as well. Greese zerks should be on all suspension parts.

i agree, but what do we do? i think not buying cheap stuff with chinese label on would help, but the problem is our leaders let importes take over. even american names are not made here! you know i just bought water pump from napa for my cummins, and the guy wanted to sell me new one, i wanted rebuilt, he said new is better, but it come from china. i told him i want cummins casting, and he looked at me funny!

You are correct. Best quality comes from north america. And the govt. is just giving people what they want... A lot of product for the money, even tho it won't last. Retards just keep buying it up.

This new gen of kids really have no idea what quality is. They're growing up with vin diesel and his clan of honda civics. So i guess they think all this crap is the norm.

Last I checked, our government isn't in the role of providing consumers with imported goods... I think the importing companies do that.

I understand the point you're making Lord, but Vin Diesel's car was some form of '70's muscle car, (original Charger I think but not sure.) i.e. American steel.

GE products are junk! if its not a whirlpool dont buy it. the reason old refrigerators last so long is because the compressor is massive. it barly has to run to cool the thing, but in the process it is an energy PIG operating such an oversized compressor. new appliances have ity bity eco friendly compressors than run all the time and use WAY less but because they run all the time they wear out faster. and also have all this other electronic junk on them. hell some of them have TV's WTF its a fridge people. my fridge is a 1986 and running stong as new. LOL

its all about money. things are desiged to break so you have to go get it fixed or buy a new one. GREED my friend.

Greed, plain and simple. Pay more, get less. Follow the money to shareholder bank accounts.

As consumers, we are the ones to blame....everybody wants a good deal, in the end you get what you pay for.

How can you blame the consumer when inferior-quality goods are now the only reasonable option in many sectors of the marketplace?

Blame the consumer for not spending an inordinate amount of time and money seeking out higher cost goods, where in some cases they do not even exist any longer? Really?
