Miami officer arrested at gunpoint, accused of going 120 mph on turnpike to second job - Miami-Dade - MiamiHerald.com

The fact he was pulled over and detained makes me happy.

The fact that he probably got away with it many times before, and will probably walk away with nothing but a wrist slap, makes me sad. Reading between the lines, "it's just a traffic offense at this point" and "we're letting the justice system play out" means "well, it's not like us untouchable cops are actually expected to follow the rules".

The fact it was a woman cop that did it makes me even happier. :rocking:

Ramprat 10-30-2011 02:23 PM

Miami sucks goat balls and this cop who thinks he's above the law just proves it...he needs to be fired and sent to jail...but the police department says it's "just a traffic offense" but if it was anybody else except a crocked cop the guy would still be in jail....

That entire police department needs to e flushed....and the arresting state trooper needs to e awarded a medal and promoted

Really? What'd you do there? I thought South Beach would have been right up your alley. Maybe you missed the good parts. Mind you, coming from Wyoming I guess all the noise, pollution and pace of things, not to mention all the immigrants, would've made it suck.

I'm not too fond of it myself to be honest, I was just curious to know why you thought it was crap.

PSD-BLACK-CLOUD 10-31-2011 09:25 PM

LOL wat a dumbass. Why would you pull over a fellow officer? This is going to start a war like we had in South Texas it was dps vs. border patrol. It started when a trooper pulled over a bp vehicle that had it lights on in pursuit. Then dps vehicles that went through check points were tore apart and searched for drugs. it got prety bad.lol

nothing like supporting a black booted thug speeding and weaving in and out of traffic endangering everybody on the road trying to think of a reason he was speeding...he was running from the police...and himself a cop...thus he needs to be fired on the spot....not protected...what he did in running was illegal...you or I would go to jail for that...

THis is directly taken from Florida's code:

316.1935 Fleeing or attempting to elude a law enforcement officer; aggravated fleeing or eluding.—(1) It is unlawful for the operator of any vehicle, having knowledge that he or she has been ordered to stop such vehicle by a duly authorized law enforcement officer, willfully to refuse or fail to stop the vehicle in compliance with such order or, having stopped in knowing compliance with such order, willfully to flee in an attempt to elude the officer, and a person who violates this subsection commits a felony of the third degree, punishable as provided in s. 775.082, s. 775.083, or s. 775.084.
(2) Any person who willfully flees or attempts to elude a law enforcement officer in an authorized law enforcement patrol vehicle, with agency insignia and other jurisdictional markings prominently displayed on the vehicle, with siren and lights activated commits a felony of the third degree, punishable as provided in s. 775.082, s. 775.083, or s. 775.084.
(3) Any person who willfully flees or attempts to elude a law enforcement officer in an authorized law enforcement patrol vehicle, with agency insignia and other jurisdictional markings prominently displayed on the vehicle, with siren and lights activated, and during the course of the fleeing or attempted eluding:
(a) Drives at high speed, or in any manner which demonstrates a wanton disregard for the safety of persons or property, commits a felony of the second degree, punishable as provided in s. 775.082, s. 775.083, or s. 775.084.

Listen to the video...this is not the 1st time that cop has done the speeding thing & it's not the 1st time he's been busted...why is it it's ok for him to get away with speeding to a 2nd job time and time again...why do other cops look away...and protect him...

Sure she was wrong, she did not follow procedure and did not break off the chase...but where was her backup...why was she alone..why did she do a felony stop alone...

Is she a product of relaxed standards law enforcement angies are faceng, or is she a wild card...who knows and yep she was wrong and needs a kick in the ass, but to be fired...ummm nope...

But hey, it's the good old boy situation, police doing what they want when they want and why you can not trust the cops any more....

Exactly...why stop a cop breaking the law...let him get away with it..again and again and again till he kills somebody......

Are not police held to a higher standard...they enforce the laws...what makes them special that they can break them...off duty heading toward a 2nd job....

Any one of us would have been thrown in jail....but not a cop....

Just another example of us vs them and they are better than us....

PSD-BLACK-CLOUD 11-03-2011 02:47 PM

I could care less man. I have never been thrown in jail for speeding, and I have had some interesting pull overs. I just dont think it was worth her chaseing him. Its not like anything will happen to him.
