Default Torch Help

ok I have used torches before. the last time was 10 years ago. I know your suposed to adjust as and oxygen until the blue flame gets to ~1/4" in length.

my problem is that my blue flame never becomes an arrow shape. I see all 5 little streams of blue flame. do I not have a cutting head on it and just a brazing head or some thing?

no matter how I adjust the gas and oxygen mix the small flames never connect to make one larger one.

I cleaned it up. I thought you were supposed to get all the lines to meet?

I was just trying to play with my new toys and couldnt cut a 1/4" piece of plate steel. I'll have to try the right flame. I tried it a bunch of different ways and couldnt get it to cut.

I'm not familiar with the different tips. what is the best tip for cutting?

Look here:

You should slice through 1/4" plate easily.

BTW, nice pics Longhorn...
