Chain questions???
I'm looking at some chain. The dude that has it doesn't know squat about it. I know there's different grades, and there all marked, what do I want for pulling, heavy, just truckin chain.:rocking:
Grade 70 or 80. It'll be stamped on a link every foot.
"Just truckin' chain"?
I don't know how to application engineer for "just truckin' chain". :humm: |
I'll stick to straps thank you. Seen up close and personal what a chain can do when it breaks.
I want it for pulling people out of ditches, stuff like that.
Get you a good strap and never look back. Chains are for tieing down heavy equipment. I use a 4 inch wide 20 foot long, no shock to either vehicle when you have to bump them hard.
And make sure it's a "recovery strap".
Not a tie down strap for lumber and shit. Google a pic and you'll see what we mean. |
Jerk Strap, all the way baby. They are made to stretch like a bungee cord. Get a running start, hit the end of the stretch and hit the brakes and hold. This way the strap takes the stress of pulling and not your drive line.
