Should I become a recuiter?

#1 Yes
#2 no
#3 Maybe
#4 Just stay in the unit i am now

Here is my story, Im stationed in a reserve unit out of TN. But i live in Va. I can get rec-ad. Papers and kida be a part time recuiter. Until i get to Corporal then i can go on and get orders and be a full time recuiter and get full benefits from active duty. But the bad side is, the only thing i can do is recuit. No more kicking down the doors and taking names. The reason i wanting to get out of the reserves is bc we can no longer be deployed and theres nothing to be. I guess what im really trying to say is, i miss the active life. Always seeing that nice pay check and just being around a bunch of your brothers and haveing a good ol time. But let me know your ideas?

Thanks,
Bryan

A decision like this must come from your heart:humm: It's your life & only you should make this decision:c:

So, you want a more 'active' life by hanging out with guys, kicking down doors and taking names. Sounds to me like you should either get in the Mob or become a cop.

1) Guess I missed something?
"Nothing to be?" You're still a Marine!
And since when can marine reservist no longer be deployed? Or am I misreading that?
(I can see the line forming at MEPS now:lol88:)

2) If it's the steady pay and bene's, and comraderie you desire, (I'm assuming you're "kicking doors during deployments?), just go back on AD, regardless of the position.
3) We share a commonality in that I too have being trouble with being bored, and enjoyed the comraderie both in the military and law enforcement. That's the tough part of retirement:(

I'd definitely agree with this assessment.

As I mentioned earlier, we share a commonality my friend....we're both adrenaline junkies it seems:)
This has been the hardest adjustment for me to make after retiring from law enforcement.
Hell, I even stayed in a reserve (LE) unit until they disbanded the department. It was a smaller local agency than the dept. I retired from, but had a ton of action!

Anyway, if that's the lifestyle you miss, recruiting won't do it for you.
If you go the recruiter route, then find a hobby or side business that fills that void.

Over time, I've started 3 businesses which fill the voids for action and comraderie for me very well.

Otherwise, If I were you, I'd think it through very carefully. Boredom is dangerous.

All the best in your decision and your future.

Should I become a recuiter?

I'd give anything to go back active.

I can judge your ability as a military recruiter with one question:

Why is the sky green?

The question with, when reservist cant be deployed no more? That was the word going around. That they pull all reservist units out. And will no more be deployed. But im sure thatll change.

I also thought about being a cop, but i really dont wanna be a cop. But aint there a certain time you can spend in the reserves to go active?

I hadn't heard that one yet.
I wouldn't hold my breath.
