gmc acadia transmission

ok well i bought my wife a new to use 2007 gmc acadia with 50000 miles on it a lil over a month ago and well to put it simply she is now stuck in texas at her aunts till the dealership figures out whats wrong. the really bad part is i am currently deployed to iraq and she is trying to get back to ga. i have been reading online now about them and see there are alot of complaints about the transmission and having to have them replaced with super low miles well the thing is me being a mechanic i want to know what hard parts hard parts have been replaced my question is have any of you had problems with one and what did it take to fix i will be posting the info i get from the dealership as i get it. thanks for everything guys this has been the best forum site i have ever found

turns out that its a snap ring that holds the 3,5,6, and reverse gear it was replaced once and then on the test drive it broke a brand new one. dealer is waiting an another part to replace it again and we will see what it does i hope to god this fixes the problem

usually there is something that is causing that snap ring to break... a snapring does hold quite a bit but if there are more forces than it was designed with it will break. I don't think they dug into it enough to find the source

you are 100% right thats is why they are getting the new parts so they can do more trouble shooting and try to figure it out what is causing this to keep happening
