Couple pairs of White's....couple pairs of Hawthorn.

I apply a fairly substantial amount of ground pressure and the custom fit boots work much better for me...

Redwings, have Kingtoes, and a pair of 2211, have to have steel toe, prefer uninsulated, but with a waterproof lineing.

i am trying out these redbacks and so far love them, kinda ugly but more comfortable than anything else i have lol.
i used to get dr. martens steel toe just cause they seemed to hold up to abuse a little better but so far these are very good too, plus they come as a slip on so when i get home its easy to get them off!
they come from austrailia, the only place i have found them is online and the local matco guy and if you get them make sure you get them one size smaller than you actually wear.

I am on my second pair of Redwings, and they may be my last. I have worn Dakotas in the past before these last couple pair of Redwings. Despite the Redwings have a much quicker break in period, they can be destroied just as fast as a pair if boots that are much cheaper. 12 days of wearing my last pair and I accidently stepped on a red hot track pin I cut out of a track with a torch. It melted the sole of the boot instantly. $300 damaged in an instant. For me, Red wings need to last over two years to justify the higher cost compared to Dakotas. The last pair barely met this mark. Time will tell if I get a 3rd pair or not.
I have been thinking about getting a pair of slip on boots. Sure would be quicker and cleaner then pulling coveralls over my boots, or removing my boots. At a field tech, there are some days I am at 4 or more sites per day, and coveralls are NEVER worn while in the truck.

yep im a field service tech and i put on and take off coveralls several times a day, thats why i went with the slip on. lasted a year so far and the elastic is still as strong as the day i bought them. hold up well to oil not sure about heat though lol

Red Wings have always hurt my feet, I wear durashocks w/ no heel. Comfortable.

I have a pair of pecos redwings that I acquired through work:w2:. They didnt hold up in the water like they said they would so I took them home for personal use. Now I have a pair of Thorogood work boots. Went with them because I have a piar of their fire boots and I trust them. So far, 5 months and they are now starting to show the signs of wear. I hope they can last another 7 months so that I can get another pair

I wear military boots, even in a corporate job.

I like my Ad-Tec western lace ups. They're usually pretty comfy, especially on softer surfaces i.e. dirt. They have the higher heel and sometimes hurt my feet at work since I'm on my feet for 6-8 hours on a solid concrete floor. I'm on my second pair. Last ones lasted a couple years before the heel drove me nuts and made me go boot shopping again. I've only noticed it with these boots, but I tend to roll my foot to the outside of the boot, when I step, wearing the heel cap funny. I wore my other pair down to the plastic heel and it sounded like I was wearing womens high heels when I walked and it drove me nuts. :td: I'll have to see if I can find a shop to replace the heel cap when these ones wear down more. For a $90 pair of boots, I'm not gonna complain too much since I do like them otherwise.

I also have a pair of $30 Brahmas from walmart. Steel toe, standard black work boot. They're pretty comfy but didn't last long when I used to wear my old ones everyday before I went to the Ad-Tecs. I wear them when my Ad-Tecs bother my feet(not very often).

I have trouble finding something I like that fits right. I'm tempted to try getting some made for my feet. :humm: When I go looking for new boots again I think I'm going to try to find something like my Ad-Tecs but maybe more like a logger boot that has the solid rubber sole and better traction with a little bit of western style to it still(kinda hard to find).
