talk to most Jeep guys....."yeah im running a ford front 60, 14 bolt rear, NP205/203 doubler with a SM465 chevy mated to it with a 350 chevy engine making 400 horsespower, custom driveshafts, 4 linked with coilovers front and rear and 8 inch longer wheelbase, custom tube fenders and fiberglass tub setting on top of 37 inch tall BFG Krawlers wrapped around beadlocks, but its STILL A JEEP....." that is the answer alot give you, so yeah its just about as much jeep as alot of the ones out there.......

You make a very good point, Logan.

I loved my Jeep when I had it and I still miss it. It was one of the funnest daily drivers I've ever owned. I bought my 4Runner as a cheap replacement for my Jeep. But growing up I had an 85 Toy X-cab that loved to fly like Jason's Toy did. My dad also had an 86 4Runner. I've always known what they're capable of. We once towed approx 4000 lbs with my dad's 4Runner.

The one thing I'd forgotten over the years is how little you have to do to a Toy to make it wheelable vs. what you have to do to a Jeep to make it take the same kind of abuse. It's a night and day difference.

After owning both......a '79-'85 SR5 is the toughest vehicle pound for pound ever built.

JMHO...still love my Jeepster Commando.

I had a 89 jeep that I would have trusted to go anywhere with over 200,000 mi. on it. And I beat the crap out of that thing. Ended up giving it to guy for a case of beer:c: Still ran great but the body was about to fall of the chassis. I think he is still running that thing and that was about ten years ago!!!!
