What Intake And Why?

lets have a filter debate
whats the best bag for the buck?
wet or dry filter?

why did you go with the filter you bought?

my self,
i have a AEM brute force. i notice not to many people use them.
i bought it because it's a reusable dry filter. i believe i paid $240
intake tube is aluminum instead of coated steel. i figured what if that coated steel started chipping or rusting?

I have an AMSoil 4510 that I run, it works for me, though intake overall is just it sitting in open engine compartment, I'd like to obtain an icebox intake for the filter to sit in in the future.

i run a open factroy filter cause they are somewhat cheap, going to the BHAF before too long, i could tell night and day from just removing the box, and at night WOW, probably 10-15 more mph than during the day sucking cold air in around the headlight......

I have been running an S&B Intake for the last two months, and have been very satisfied with the system. I had a AFE drop in filter(PG7) and had code issues from day one. I have yet to throw a code with the S&B, and I have pulled trailer's quite a bit lately. I know intakes are not a requirement for the Dmax, but I am in the sand quite a bit and don't like replacing spendy filters all that often. I am happy with the results so far.

I have an AFE Stage 1/PG7 filter and torque tube. Works good so far...

But I really like the AEM Workhorse intakes - a HUGE filter.

The S&B (the 7 layer filter) looks good to me as well but Id rather have a dry filter like the AEM or AFE Pro-Dry S

icebox all the way

I ran an AFE filter in the stock box for awhile. Then I tried an Amsoil drop in filter. I now have a Quadzilla monster intake and love it. Really good whistle from the turbo and it always passes the white glove test. I have to admit though, it can be a pain sometimes with the cleaning, but that comes with any oiled filter.

I have an AFE stage 1 that I have customized....It was originally in my 04.5 and I cut it down to fit into the 06, then they quit making the filters for mine, so I have taken the tube to a muffler shop and had it expanded to fit an 07 Chev filter with a 4.5" opening. I am having major issues in the fine dust and I have clogged the filter many times. I will not use a 'wet' filter on the next truck.

I did try an amsoil based on all the hype, but it failed miserably. Maybe a much larger one would be the answer.

Have you looked at the new AFE ProDry S or AEM?? The AEM Workhorse is HUGE !

I want a workhorse really bad, but Im selling this truck right away, so no more toys for this one....
