Gas question
 

Hey everyone. So this Christmas ive been thinking of buying my dad a computer mod for his 1999 Dodge Ram V8 pickup. Any ideas on a great tuner?

Try a Bully Dog, had good luck with there gas tunes.

I've tried Superchips Flashpaq and Diablo Predator on my '02 Silverado I had before the wreck...
With the Diablo, you have more options and custom settings you can make. We were even able to hook a laptop to it while driving and you can see charts of RPMS at certain times, etc.. (a bunch of different things)- it's really cool.
Superchips Flashpaq doesn't have as many options nor custom options.
Between the two, I would choose Diablo.

I heard custom tunes (where you send the PCM off to someone) is better but I didn't wanna go through the bs of sending back and forth.
An ex has/had custom tune from someone but I didn't notice any difference. Diablo and Superchips wasn't a major difference either but I did notice the shift pressure and slightly quicker throttle response. Oh, and with Diablo, you can take off torque management (I think that's what it was called); and I think they had Abuse Mode too.

I didn't think it was worth the money though. After I tried it out, I had a Vette servo put in the truck and got firmer shifts...much firmer than what the programmers could give. I know you're talking about a Dodge but that's my experience.

I'd look into hypertech and superchips. Don't rule out sct either.
