Does anyone play soccer?

My daughter is starting in a few weeks and I need to buy her cleats. I have seen them for $10 and up but they all look the same to me. I want to buy her something that will be comfortable but I don't want to spend a bunch when she will probably out grow them before the season is over. I don't know crap about soccer or cleats. Also they said the shin guard things were optional does she really need them? They acted like they wernt needed at all but I'm thinking about buying them anyways.

How old is your daughter? If it is like a 10u league she doesn't need the highest quality cleats, but a 35-40 dollar pair would probably best suit the safety and comfort of her feet.

I refereed soccer for 4 years and seen multiple shin injuries, SHE WANTS SHIN GUARDS. Most leagues it's not even an option due to the frequent of injuries.

Hope this helps

She's 8 almost 9. See that's what I thought about the shin guards but she's playing at YMCA and the girl I asked was just a random person behind the counter. I saw the shin guards that are built into socks and some that are separate. Are those basically the same things or is one better than the other? Really I played softball my whole life and know nothing about any other sports. I'm just looking online at academy sports. Amazingly she likes the cheap $10 shoes but she recently had stiches across the outside of her left foot. The doctor said any hard hit or kick could open it back up. So I was afraid those cheap shoes wouldn't protect her foot enough. Maybe I can convince her that another pair is cuter.

Both shin guard designs protect just as well. The 10 dollar pair of cleats could be just as good as the 30 dollar pairs. It all depends on whether its a sale price or clearance or what not.

I just looked on Academy and those all look pretty good. I wouldn't hesitate to buy any of them.

+1 to shin guards. kids kick pretty wild! especially when the younger groups like that get all bunched up on top of the ball lol
my daughter liked the ones built into the long socks best, there a bit more comfortable and easier to play in.

That's what I was thinking. They look easier to deal with and less to forget. Plus the pink ones I found were pretty cute! Made me want to play so I can have an excuse to buy them for me!

You definitely want shin guards. I played a year in high school and the shin guards would be the difference between getting stitches or not lol

yeah since she's gonna out grow the cleats real fast it just depends on what she like i guess, and you'll really want to go with the shin guards!

I'm not gay, I just like to play soccer and have a thing for pasty-skinned red-heads.
