here in wv they are many people getting hurt and killed from doing dumb things on atvs. those big 4 wheelers can kill you if you roll them over.

IDIOTS

Begle1 08-07-2010 11:08 PM

I had a 233 Suzuki through middle school. I hopped off, rolled off, fell off and flipped that thing a LOT over our time together, until I got a driver's license and grew out of it.

The handlebars on that thing looked like }~\|> by the time I was finished with it, and nothing that mounted to the handlebars was close to non-pulverized either. The plastic fenders never entirely broke by some miracle, but were awfully gouged... I never rode it for an hour without having a life-threatening incident, and somehow I never got injured on it.

Rolled over backwards during hill climbs, drove it off cliffs, hit trees, barrel rolled it from turning and catching traffic wrong, et cetera... That's what they're designed to do. That first video isn't even worth mentioning, and I laugh at the hill climb failure on the third video. I counted 7 barrel rolls one time I failed a hill climb, and I was underneath the quad on the first barrel roll.

I once mentioned getting a motorcycle license in front of my dad and friend who I used to ride with, they about died laughing... I now realize that I would die within three days of riding a motorcycle.

I rented a snow mobile once, over a day I only flipped it upside-down on three different occasions... After hitting 90 MPH on an old railroad bed on the way back to the rental shop, the shop guy flipped it over on it's side to inspect the skis and one of them fell clear off. Apparently I hit something hard enough to shear the heads off the mounting bolts somewhere along the line too. Oh, and then he charged me $700 for blowing up the engine because it dropped a cylinder somewhere along the line.

Wish I had a camera on my many rides on the 350X, I'm suprised it's in the shape it's in (great shape by the way) needless to say it's had new plastic, forks, bars, wheels, many, many, many times. Honda of Troy was my best friend back in the day. Aww, the good ole days...

I don't know of any body with an ATV that hasn't wrecked, flipped, or sunk their ATV:nope:

I guess it's self-gratifying for you guys to act high and mighty regarding ATV's for some reason...

If you aren't falling off the ATV on occasion then you aren't on the limit. They're designed to be operated on the limit. If you aren't crashing them you're missing the point.

They're like BMX bikes or skateboards. The most important skill is to know how to jump off, tuck and roll or take a fall without getting seriously injured.

I've flipped an atv on it's side more than one time and I was riding at this so-called limit you speak of begle, but i never had 4 people on an atv and hit the side of a tractor trailer at full throttle, there's a difference between pushing the atv to the limit and pulling your friend around in a childs toy in the street and hitting the side of cement barrier, to me that's not pushing a quad to it's limits it's pushing stupidity to it's limits

reiser 08-08-2010 03:27 PM

all i gadda say is you can't be having fun if you don't have to wear a helmet :rocking:

That's the only inexplicable one I saw posted.

The one with the guy getting towed behind the ATV is close to inexplicable, but I once set my pants on fire being towed across a dry lake bed on one of those giant snow frisbees, so I have an understanding point of view on that one as well.

DB Admin 08-08-2010 07:25 PM

pertiain to the video to where the guy was being towed , was his head on backwards at the end?

that guy had to be seriously injured same as the semi trailer one

bobcat67 08-08-2010 07:42 PM

About the video of the guy being pulled either the helmet twisted or his neck did, hopefully the helmet, as for the semi trailer one I wouldn't be to surprised to find out that someone didn't make it out of there alive or seriously messed up, a lot of videos on here are very avoidable because they're rolling around on normal quads with multiple people on them, not saying I haven't been guilty of that, but riding style needs to change to compensate for that extra person, and to Begle, I used to tow around my little brothers in a snow sled behind the 4 wheeler, still there was nothing but snow and ground that they could've ran into, granted still dangerous but pulling someone around on pavement is a retarded idea

DB Admin 08-08-2010 07:54 PM

just make sure you dont loop the rope around your ankle :)

as for wrecks , i grew up on a 125M Honda 3 Wheeler , i rode on state trails everyday , during the summer dad would being home 5 gallons of gas from work every single day.

i rode that 3 wheeler so much that i would put my self in the record books if it was tracked, its all i did as a child.

and guess what ... ive never owned a helmet

this one place was hard to maneuver but it was in the middle of trail connectors so it had to be passable ... every time i would get to this spot i would flip it and land in the briers every single time , the 3 wheeler just couldnt do it , it didnt matter if i was sitting on the fender it would still flip , just got back up and went on , god looks after idiots and little kids ..thats proof of both

zeigler86 08-09-2010 01:54 AM

it just amazes me how many people dont wear helmets. dumb asses.
