New Ford Has Crossed My Mind

I'm looking forward to Ford and their new Scorpion diesel to come out next month. As soon as they come in, I'm gonna to go take a look at em. It's either that, or pour more damn money into my Dodge (around $7000) to fix and replace a bunch of stuff on it, on top of the 100,000 mile service. :argh:

Would 7 thousand even make a good down payment on a new one???, the 06 isn't even broke in good yet.

I was thinkin the same thing but ended up putting $8k into mine this past summer instead. I always seem to find I'm better off waiting till something new has been out a couple years first, than you usually know what all the bugs are and how to fix em.

Trust me... Ford has done there homework on this motor. The whole point of getting away from IH was to not have warranty issues.

If I had a spare 60k sitting around I would be ordering one right now.

My buddy just bought a Harley edition to tow his Cummins race truck. I was VERY impressed with it. And it sure beats my old bucket of bolts.

The new 6.7-liter diesel engine will be manufactured in Mexico.

Wonderful more jobs for Mexico, it was probably just work we didn't want to do, like construction work, if they keep sending all the jobs else where who going to buy the stuff when all our jobs are being done out of country.

Screw it. I'll keep the Dodge, even though I'm going to be spending $700 fix fix the HVAC system, $350 to replace the muti-function switch, another $300 on new brake pads (front and rear) along with replacing most all the fluids. I'm gonna do the coolant system (flush, new coolant, and hoses) and service the transmission next month. Also, the front driveline is in need of new joints, and a double cardan, front end is still in damn good shape for 105,000. Has a small amount of play, but the tires are still wearing normally. Drivers seat is needing redone or replaced and fix or replace the windshield again. :jump:

Your buddy bought a 6.4 then, not the new one. So far there is no harley edition of the 6.7.

Ford has been making their own diesels for a long time, they sell tons of them in Europe. Let's hope this one holds together well. The 6.4 was a good step forward but still had some of the same issues as the 6.0 (4 bolts per cylinder) At least the 6.7 is gonna have the 6 per cylinder, makes me feel a little more confident.

I'm really psyched to see how the 6R140 will do though... If they improved on the 5R110 I think Ford guys will be in for a real treat.
