ok ive asked this on cummins forum and competition diesel and on both sites the debate has gotten heated or deleted so lets see what you guys have to say.

about 8 years ago i was informed that there is a huge difference between a engine and a motor. some guys on the forums say they are the same thing and others say they are completely different what do you guys think?

Motors are electric or hydraulic, engines are internal combustion

motor city? :humm: i dont think detriot was famous for making electric engines.

I use both motor and engine daily in my vocab, if they know what your taking about it dont matter.

but commonly i refer specific things to what ive always known them to be, like electric motors

people commonly confuse the two might as far as i stand if people know what im talking about i dont usually correct myself. but a motor is for electricity and hydraulics and engine is for internal combustion. but i call engines motors all the time. force of habit i guess.

For the love of God man, how bent for vindication are you on this topic?

You have proven to be completely incapable of posting a legitimate response to what I posted on CompD, and earlier on CumminsForum, and yet you continue to march to the ends of the Earth looking for somebody to agree with you so you can justify your baseless beliefs.

Are you going to quest to monasteries in the heights of the Himalayas and to remote yogi huts in isolated India just to find somebody to give your dogmas some scrap of legitimacy? Maybe you should ask the owl on the BlowPops commercial or Alex Trebek.
