actually i think he was trying to invent a new style of drifting. how far can you slide your car with no tires....

RSWORDS 08-21-2007 11:24 AM

I think he pissed someone off. What are the chances of all 4 wheels comig off?

toy4xchris 08-21-2007 01:17 PM

that isn't supposed to happen right? Wow your right though some people should just stay away from cars.

JD140h3 08-21-2007 04:43 PM

MRaynor 08-22-2007 08:20 PM

Fixed here and above hopefully.....

MRaynor 08-22-2007 08:55 PM

Link worked for me.

Dude got some crappy lugnuts. I would go after em for the repairs. :madd: :madd:

jasonfriedlin 08-22-2007 08:57 PM

Seems like he should've known they weren't right when he put the tires on

i know i would..... i'll try to see what i can find out if they did something about it but i seriously doubt it since "they" the tire store didn't install them then it is the sole responsability of the end user not the supplier.....

2001shrtbedcummins 08-22-2007 11:15 PM

wow I would be whooping some tire story punk behind. But didn't he notice they weren't right?

cbrahs 08-22-2007 11:20 PM

after watching the video, I was going to post

You mean you are not supposed to keep the trigger pulled on the 1/2" impact til the socket stops turning? LOL!!

THat sucks. Should have realized they were wrong while installing them.

Benjamin 08-23-2007 03:02 PM

the odd thing is he said they torqed down properly.

Johnny Cetane 08-23-2007 03:08 PM

that seems like a pretty loose group on that board. LOL! i didn't read the whole thing but did he get the wrong thread pitch or the wrong style of nut? i was a victim of the wrong style of lug nut when i was in high school. i managed to keep all my wheels on....barely.... cost me some wheel studs though.

Horseapple 08-23-2007 03:17 PM

Racing in an import is like competing in the special olympics, even if you win your still a retard

Did I say that out loud?

Ya we are a close knitt group on there.... so ya we cut up alot..... i'm not exactly sure but one person noted and i have experienced this before.... a 1/2 X 20 (standard) thread is VERY close to a 12 X 1.5 (metric) the 1/2 x 20 will tighten up on a 12x1.5 stud but won't hold the side to side force that he exerted on the car during that solomn (sp) before the lugs came off......

Johnny Cetane 08-23-2007 03:41 PM

makes sense. i ran into "similar" thread issues before with hardware. tell him that's a sufficient explanation and we're ok with him having tools now. lol

mobs241 08-23-2007 11:35 PM

a rwd rx7 might be a import but it is one of the fastest non muscle class imports around.. and simplist to work on...its not like he was driving a honda..

i had that happen on my jeep once. but it was just one tire.. but my hub was still attached when it came off.. i blew my hub..lol

still sucks though..

I agree with you on the Mazdas, those Wankel (sp?)motors are a marvel of modern engineering. Theres a fella here in town that races them at the strip, runs 10's. Damned thing sounds like a pissed off chain saw, but its a rocket!

Johnny Cetane 08-24-2007 08:12 AM

yeah i wouldn't screw with a twin turbo rx7. when the ran good, and were tuned there wasn't much that could touch them. the supras and 300zx's tore alot of new buttholes in their day too.
