Not every night you told by a police SWAT Captain, you better be ready to use that gun, but to make sure to use it quick and make sure the shot counts.

Our security is expanding as we get bigger, security use to be just walking the parking lots, we always tried to stay ahead of problems, we were walking the parking lots before we had a problem so we haven't had one.

Then we moved to the new Church building which is a lot bigger, we join with another church and went from a VW to a Limo, so we took security to 2 people roaming inside and outside and some ushers packing inside, Capt Rob has been training us for a while and tries to keep us ready for what could happen.

So tonight it was decided we need more people licensed,carrying and trained to shoot in tight areas, where you don't want to shoot the wrong person, got to get communication going as we have people and kids in four different buildings covering a lot of ground and distance from each other, plus the guys outside of the chapel need to know if help is needed inside and we have to be able to let the guys inside know we need help.

Main thing we have to be ready and don't be surprised if it does happen, be trained to react , do it, ask later why, it's shame you have to be ready for war going to church, but these days you better be ready, I don't think we could have stopped the shooter of the Baptist Preacher that was shot and killed a while back, all happened to quick, but still need need to be ready.

Jesus died for me, so the least I can do is do my part in protecting his people, if it means I become a target,so be it, it will give the next guy time to take him out, I rather die trying than just sitting there watching my brothers and sister's die.

So keep your eyes open, stay safe and thank God for every day he gives you.

 

Security at a church. What's FL coming to? Wow!

NO it not that bad, we are just staying prepared, Ft Hood just got everyone's attention and then the very next day we had a guy who was fired 2 years earlier come back and shot up the office he used to work, 1 killed, and 5 wounded.

So we figured it was time we stepped up our security steps, if you came to my church you never see all the security, we are just long time church members, we just trying to be ready, as you never know now days, who would have thought that guy fired 2 years ago that they had to Baker Act soon after, who go off like that.

So were just trying not to be the next sad story you hear on the news, if your ready and not an easy target, we should never have anything happen.
