i am now the proud owner of a gsg-5 rifle. has to be the most fun ive had shootin a .22. i bought it for myself for my birthday, i figured a .22 for my 22nd birthday was appropriate but the girlfriend didnt think that was an adequate excuse for spending 600 bucks on a gun. so does anyone else here got one of these? i just ordered a colapsable stock for it too.

 

Havent shot one but surely does look like a fun gun to throw some lead. how big of clip does it have? prolly takes longer to load it than does to empty it. good job though, some times a guys gotta do what a guys gotta do and guns are a good investment hold their value pretty well. Any time i get a chance to buy one on a deal i do. Never can have too many guns especially with this new admin in gov. Around here you cant even find any .22 bullets my dad yesterday bought a .22mag the store didnt have any ammo so orderd some from Bass Pro and they are back ordered for 2 months ammo of most kinds in short suppy specially .22 ammo dont know how it is around you but if it is like here buy up any you can when you find it happy huntin

well thanks friend, ya ammo isnt to hard to come by here, we have the ATK/CCI factory in lewiston, and i have plenty of connections there, so if i cant get it in the stores, i can find it somewhere. the gun has a 22 round clip and i got 7 of them, they sell a 10 round clip too i guess. i had a red dot scope sittin around for 2 years now and been lookin for something to put it on. damn thing shoots a pretty good pattern for an automatic .22. all them places like bass pro and cabelas are on back order for pistol ammo. i cant believe it, but ive done alright gettin .45 acp, .44 mag, and 9mm. anywho, it takes a bit to load the clip, but empties in a hurry without jammin.

 

I heard that the gsg5 is gonna be discontinued soon. so you lucked out.

 

as far as i know they already got shutdown for the gsg-5. H&K sued them pretty good i guess. but they are still making an AK-47 clone and a 1911 clone. but i even got one of the "1st anniversary edditions" and only anniversary.

 

All GSG HK clones have to be sold by January 1, 2010...or they (German Sport Guns/ATI) must dismantle them for parts, or destroy them completely.

HK went after a ton of companies for trademark infringement in the last couple years.


They really like the CCI Mini-Mags and the Winchester HyperX rounds.
