SOUNDS GREAT!!! You gonna order the CD Jason?

jasonfriedlin 07-23-2007 07:17 PM

Already did, it'll be here this week. Pretty cool to hear new old-style music

DangerousDuramax 07-23-2007 07:29 PM

Like Waylon Jennings said 10 years ago, "Last one out of Nashville turn the lights out. We'll see you in Austin."

jasonfriedlin 07-23-2007 07:34 PM

I hear ya, there is a few new ones playin the old stuff on XM. The America channel kinda takes them in and help them get the word out. There is a guy that is a truck driver and just made a record. He's good too, but I forgot his name. Anyway, I hope you enjoy it. I love country music the way it used to be, nowadays, I don't know what it is. You watch CMT for 5 minutes, you really start to realize that it is just gay now

MRaynor 07-23-2007 08:28 PM

That's pretty good Jason.

jasonfriedlin 07-23-2007 08:40 PM

That XM will get introduce you to all kinds of good stuff. Have I said how much I love XM today!

Johnny Cetane 07-24-2007 08:55 PM

yeah most of this new stuff is just cookie-cutter bubble gum bullshit. can't stand 98% of the "artists" today. i bet hank's rolled over in his grave a few times. outlaw channel on sirius really plays some unique stuff too. plus mojo nixon cracks me up!!

cashwheel 07-24-2007 09:29 PM

Yeah, Nashvegas Sucks!!!!!!! If your into that check out radiofreetexas.com or lonestarmusic.com. The First is an internet radio, the second is a local music store with all the good roots, americana, and red-dirt music, and online samples. enjoy, between those two site and here its all my computer knows

jasonfriedlin 07-25-2007 08:45 AM

I'll have to check those out

Dr. Evil 07-25-2007 09:15 AM

Plhorseman 07-25-2007 09:16 PM

jasonfriedlin 07-25-2007 09:59 PM

If I hear Faith Hill sing "This Kiss" one more time - Im gonna kill somebody...

Regular radio just sucks. I dont get much real Texas music way up here...but Im defintely glad for the little bit I do hear. Wish I lived down there so I could take some of it in.

cashwheel 07-25-2007 11:27 PM

Come on anytime you want Doc, I'm 25 miles from the legendary Gruene Hall "the hall that started it all." I have spent alot of hours and dollars there. And I'm with you on Faith, but you gotta through in Toby Queef, and Rascal Faggs, I just cant stand anybody new in Nashvegas, with the exception of Josh Turner, Man that guy is awesome, he just needs to move to Texas, record in Austin and get it over with.

Invest in an XM Doc, I swear, it's the best thing since sliced bread. Supposed to work way up there too. For $11 a month, you can't beat it with a stick!!

I cant listen to crap out here via the net but thanks for the info. Jason that is a good song but i prefer Teddy Bear by RED SOVINE plus C.W. McCall, and DEl Reeves

we have a classic country station at home it is great. That is the only thing that keeps me from getting XM. I love the old stuff but the stuff that used to be new gets old so before long the radio wont be playing classic country and all we will have is CD's I guess. I hear less and less good songs on the radio everyday.

jasonfriedlin 08-04-2007 10:44 AM

Country music has taken a turn for the worst. I think that it is an effort to attract new listeners, but it has kind of left the rest of us short-changed. I have friends who like the new style, and we argue about it all the time. I usually tell them to watch CMT dor 5 minutes and then come back and tell me it's not gay

LOGANSTANFORTH 08-22-2007 11:43 PM

Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain
Rocky Top Tennessee
Cool Water
My Heroes Have Always Been Cowboys
North To Alaska
Country Roads
Tulsa Time
Don't It Make My Brown Eyes Blue
Country Bumpkin
Phantom 309

That list and the other 500+ country songs on my computer that were made before 1990 qualifies me for this club dont it??? 25 hours of music and 23 of them are country before 1990......WHEN IT WAS GOOD!!!. Its sad when I hear songs and I knew who sung them the FIRST TIME around!!!!!! and im 22, I've probably got stuff no one has ever heard before LOL.....I just don't think Hank would of done it this way.........Johnny Paycheck is from my hometown and sung in my grandfathers bar growing up so i got my own ties to old country. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Johnny_PayCheck

good place for lyrics http://www.cowboylyrics.com
