Twas the month before Christmas*

Twas the month before Christmas*

*When all through our land,*

*Not a Christian was praying*

*Nor taking a stand.*

*See the PC Police had taken away,*

*The reason for Christmas - no one could say.*

*The children were told by their schools not to sing,*

*About Shepherds and Wise Men and Angels and things.*

*It might hurt people's feelings, the teachers would say*

* December 25th is just a ' Holiday '.*

*Yet the shoppers were ready with cash, checks and credit*

*Pushing folks down to the floor just to get it!*

*CDs from Madonna, an X BOX, an I-pod*

*Something was changing, something quite odd! *

*Retailers promoted Ramadan and Kwanzaa*

*In hopes to sell books by Franken & Fonda.*

*As Targets were hanging their trees upside down*

* At Lowe's the word Christmas - was no where to be found.*

*At K-Mart and Staples and Penny's and Sears*

*You won't hear the word Christmas; it won't touch your ears.*

*Inclusive, sensitive, Di-ver-si-ty*

*Are words that were used to intimidate me.*

*Now Daschle, Now Darden, Now Sharpton, Wolf Blitzen*

*On Boxer, on Rather, on Kerry, on Clinton !*

*At the top of the Senate, there arose such a clatter*

*To eliminate Jesus, in all public matter.*

*And we spoke not a word, as they took away our faith*

* Forbidden to speak of salvation and grace*

*The true Gift of Christmas was exchanged and discarded*

*The reason for the season, stopped before it started.*

*So as you celebrate 'Winter Break' under your 'Dream Tree'*

*Sipping your Starbucks, listen to me.*

*Choose your words carefully, choose what you say*

*Shout MERRY CHRISTMAS ,

not Happy Holiday !*

Please, all Christians join together and

wish everyone you meet during the

holidays a

MERRY CHRISTMAS

Christ is The Reason for the Christ-mas Season!

Its true. Dec. 25 IS Chirstmas. Its not a holiday for everyone. Its for those of us that still remember that its for Jesus' birth. I'm not preachin but I remember listening to the Chirstmas story from my parents. Its not about buying gifts for others. Its about giving what you can, even if its just your presence. Just my 2 cents.

every time someone says merry Xmas in a message, or chat or in person, or on anything i say something to them. the reason for the X in Xmas is meaning Xing out christ from it. i am a believer in jesus chrsit and in my home, we celebrate CHRISTMAS. so to all that read, have a merry CHRISTmas

nice that is the problem with the world today we are so worried about offending other religions and diversities that we forgot the true meaning of Christmas. Jesus' birth the world needs to remember that and not worry bout the other pety stuff we tend to worry about.

I'm feeling better about this Christmas already Thanks Guys, keep spreading the good word

Wyatt Earp 11-13-2009 10:14 AM

I have no issue at all with all the other holidays around that time of year - just don't make me loose the meaning of mine is all I ask.

God Bless.

Cheers

You guys are seriously all going to get into tizzy hissy fits if I abbreviate "Χριστοςmas" to "Xmas"? Do you have any idea how hard it is to find the "ρ", "σ" and "ς" keys on the keyboard since I've never been in a fraternity?

kazairl 11-13-2009 11:55 AM

So you guys need a special holiday and a special season to think about Jesus? Does he go into hiding the rest of the year or what?

If you thought about all the Pagan rituals and imagery that is present during the Christmas celebration you might not celebrate it either. Or the fact that Jesus was not born In the Middle of Winter. Or the fact that the nativity scenes are always wrong or....

Wyatt Earp 11-13-2009 12:13 PM

I don't think that's the point. For me personally, its the commercialization of the whole thing - oh great, another holiday, let's all go to the mall!

Decorations and carols the day after halloween is a bit much don't you think?

kazairl 11-13-2009 12:40 PM

I would agree. However on one hand you support the idea of a free economics system and then on the other hand berate people for applying the principle in every aspect of their lives?

People want it = companies will sell it. So you say, "Don't want it" Its only a logical conclusion that someone is going to try and make money off of it. Thats what Capitalism is about isn't it? So your saying that it isn't a good idea during Christmas? but its ok the rest of the time?

But since I believe Christmas is a pagan holiday I don't get involved in all the "BUY! BUY! BUY!" craze so I guess I agree with the first post.

Wyatt Earp 11-13-2009 01:00 PM

Huh? Canada's not a completely free capitalist system, in fact it is more socialistic than you would care to partake in I'm sure.

I do not and will not stand for someone to consider that I berate people - with all due respect, please retract that statement as it isn't true.

Anyway, most people don't understand the difference or the reasoning of the buy, buy, buy BS that we face every day as it is. This isn't capitalism more than it is just poor marketing.

Cheers,

kazairl 11-13-2009 02:13 PM

Sorry, I didn't mean you in a specific sense. It was more of a generalization. Replace "you" with "people" and my meaning will be more clear. I tend to type in the way I think and it always makes sense to me. lol

I would also think that the buy buy buy thinking is more because people don't think much past their immediate gratification and think the key to happiness is who has the most "stuff".

Wyatt Earp 11-13-2009 02:18 PM

Well, I stand corrected. I agree with that 100%

K50 11-13-2009 03:07 PM

I'm an atheist, but I enjoy Christmas, and I call it Christmas because I respect all those who do believe. My family is very religous. I'm like the black sheep of the family in that sense. I won't call it 'the holiday season' because Christmas offends people. It is what it is, and this country shouldn't have to change to cater to the whining minorities. Although I'm an atheist, I have respect for people, I'm not ignorant and I'm open minded. Because of my different beliefs, Christmas takes on a different meaning to me. For me it's an opportunity to spend some solid time with my family that I don't get to see very often. Families are far more seperated these days than ever before. Back in the day everyone lived within mostly a few miles of eachother...now I've got family in the UK, Canada, the US...Flights are fast but it's expensive and hard to get to see everyone.
Although I'm an atheist, I still find the commercialisation of any holiday pretty disgusting and I refuse to get caught up in it. I like to buy gifts for people because I think they deserve it. Not because I feel obligated to.
