Moving....AGAIN, ugggh

spent the last 6 months here in panama city, fl......figured we'd give it a shot. Now we're pretty much tired of it. It was tough enough leaving the homestead of Alaska for greener grass (literally), and we knew we might spend a year or two finding "THAT SPOT". So we're on the move again, don't know exactly when, but soon prolly.

Been looking at TN pretty hard. It would be cool if some of you TN folks enlightened me as to how they like the part of the state they live in, and why....then the bad things about where they live.

My professions are wide....industrial/commercial/marine electrician (non-union), Class A CDL, auto tech etc., so work is most likely a secondary concern, which takes a back seat to environment and quality of life. We like a mild winter with limited to no snow, and warm summers. Now you know why we moved from Alaska right???

And anyone else from the mid-west or SE who has something to say about there home town is more than welcome to chime in as well.

Thanks in advance guys and happy bombing.

Chris

How about Indy I got a great house I will sell ya, as for the good there are lots of people and traffic is getting worse, now for the bad there are way to many people and traffic is getting really bad for me.

This all sounds familiar. We spent the better part of 2 years lookin for someplace to move to. The wife finally decided she liked Redding California. So off she went, we got her moved there and I was gonna follow after horses dropped their babies and i got property settled out here at home. It took her almost 2 months out there to decide it just wasn't for her and she moved back. Fantastic area but the cost of living was just to much to be able to enjoy it and in the end it was California and all their laws, regulations and hidden fees started showing their ugly head. She was out a there.

I live near Columbia SC, and jobs like what you are looking for are plentiful. Winters are short like you want, and since you have been in Fla. summer is not a concern for ya. Let me know if I can do anything to help you out.

Truth be known I wish we were in the mountains of TN too, just need to find a job there.

we lived in eastern TN when i was a kid. dad was born and raised there. we lived in knoxville, sweetwater, and some smaller towns. i liked knoxville alot. mom and dad always had work. dad's an all around guy like you chris so he had a lot of opportunities. we left in '86 so i'm sure alot has changed since then.
