Name ideas for new business

I am going to spin another business off of my existing company to help keep me doing what I really love to do. I am going to start a new company based in the shop doing lightweight fabrication. Not looking to compete with the big machine shops or anything, but be where you would go if you need something simple welded, bent, cut, pressed, whatever and don't have the facility or skills to do it.

I have the shop, I have the tools, and I have the time. What I don't have is a name. I was thinking Miller Fabrication, as a pun off of my Miller welder, but already discovered there is a shop in the state with that name, go figure. I'm at a loss, so I'm asking you guys for help. You guys know of any shops that just do small fab work with a catchy name?

Any and all suggestions welcome.

First thing off the top of my head:
CDIY Fabrication (Can't Do It Yourself Fabrication)
:humm: :pca1:

My current business is named after the area, in the phone book there are 20 Big Horn ____________ (fill in the blank) and I'm one of them:U:. I want something different for this, something that is catchy yet describes it. I've been doing more and more jobs like this and just running them through my hvac company, but I'm seeing there is enough out there to support a solid effort.

I love the CDIY Fabrication, that's the kind of ideas I'm hoping for. Keep em coming guys:c:

I hate any business name with customs, customz, kustoms, or kustomz in the name......I dont know why, Whats worse is that is my business's name, Stanforth's Custom Services....I told dad not to use it but that is how he registered it.....

lol. I agree with you Logan. Better to be original instead of trendy.

That being said I still have no ideas...I'm terrible at coming up with names for things.

.........Matt's Machine Shop...........
~Specialized in CDIY Fabrication~

I always liked a place that has custom in their name, they generally do CUSTOM work. Trendy or not, a coffee is a coffee, people go to the "trendy" places and pay more because they want what's best. Society tells them that trendy is best. (switching gears) It's an added bonus when they actually find out the place does great work for a great (non-trendy) price. Doesnt matter whether you like it or not, all that matters is what's gonna draw the most customers and separate you from the rest of the guys in town. Who's the average American gonna choose first when driving down the street or flipping through the phone book? A mom and pop named garage? or a shop that has custom work in their name?

Bob's Backyard Fabrication
or
Bob's Custom Fabrication

Sure you or I would go for the more trusted, established place where we know the old guy behind the counter KNOWS what he is doing, but the average teen-35 year-old is gonna go for what is hot, now and cool. Simple economics. Sure west coast customs is played out, but dont use a Maltese Cross in your logo and you won't be a total poser. It's not like they hold a patent on the word "Custom" and every variation of the spelling.

Start a catchy word list that describes the kind of work you want to do, include anything and everything you can think of... (including variations of a word)

CDIY
Creation - Creations
Fabrication - Fabricate -
Custom - Custom Made - Customized
Innovation - Innovations
Welding -
Auto
Bend - Bending
Shop
Machine
Unique
Creation - Creations -
Hand Made -
Specialized -
Exceptional -

ect. Take a look at the list when you get a bunch of differt words (get a thesaurus if needed, they help) and let your imagination get the best of you. You will be surprised what a little bit of word jumbling will get you. Sounds corny, like something grandma would do, but the best business minds do similar things, they just pay people to do it for them. Some things will obviously not fit, but they might spark your mind for something that might. There's a good bit of a 4 year/$200k marketing degree in 3 paragraphs.

(not trying to offend anyone, just looking at it from a business perspective):c:

killer miller creations.... Ive always like when people just use a normal name. like "Daves fabrication" to me its like there putting there name on what they do and i would like to trust them..... but that's just me.. MILLER is a good name too because miller sounds like an industrial thing. I also live in Miller Place so that's probably why i like the name.
