2004 Chrysler Siebring heater controls

Mrs. Evils AC/Heater fan is on the fritz. The fan will only blow on high. Low and medium dont work at all. I checked fuses and relays and all was good.

Any ideas guys?

well sounds like the fan is getting a power source if it runs on high...........I would pull the bezel and then pull the switch itself...careful on how they come apart though...I know there is several lil bump contact points so maybe check em to make sure no buildup of crud or something

I was hoping you wernt going to say that. I looked at it real quick so will have to try to figure out how the bezel comes off.

It should be against the law to sell a vehicle and not include the factory service manual...

my wife drives an 02 sebring and its doing the same thing. the fan only works on high. if i remember right you can buy the parts that has the 3 fan/heater/vent control thing for like 165 bucks. but before i do that im going to pull the switch apart and clean it good. and if your bezel is like mine you just pull out on the bottom of it and it pops right out.

I havent had a chance to look at it yet...

But, she talked to her brother who works for DC (and sold her the car) and he seems to think it will be the switch itself. Thats a lot of $ for a switch. Ill be trying to clean it before I buy one too.

Thanks for the info on the bezel....:c:

doc, look down by where the heater fan is. follow the wiring from it and see if it goes into something else. most vehicles use a blower resistor/controller to control the blower speeds. they're typically screwed into the heater box near the blower motor because they use the blower motor to help cool the resistor pack. when these fail you usually only get blower speed on high. i'd bet your car has one and that's the problem.

Update....

Well, I finally got tired of Mrs. Evils incessant whining and decided to fix this today (why the hell not, you can fry an egg on the sidewalk - seems to be as good a time as any...lol)...

Got it fixed. Thanks Johnny, I owe ya a beer. I would have still been looking at the fuses....:se::se:
