i'm considering selling my truck. i owe about 10,000 in loans
i would like to get them paid off so i can buy a new used lobster boat

i have found 2 30' boats in my area both have the infamous 5.9 cummins

one was a prior race boat 30 young brothers the other is a 30' crowley
the young brothers looks like the one in my sig except thats a 40'

but boat is even painted the same

Is this a dream of your, if so do it. I assume you know what your doing and how to run your/a biz, and that is something you want?

My dad owns his own biz and growing up it was always the "plan" for me to take it over. I didn't have the hart for it and never tried taking over. That company is his life and I couldn't enjoy life if I had the stresses he does. Sure it was fine for the first ~20 years or so by now I get the sense he doesn't enjoy it and he would just much rather take care of his Orchard. He is way to invested in this company now and has others that depend on him to be there to quit.

If you are selling your truck to pay off debt, just to get in debt again does not make since to me. I would wait until you retire your debt before adding to it.

Just my opinion, Nice boats though

well i was figuring it this way..
the boat will make a heck of alot more money then my truck will.
so sell the truck, make some money, buy an other truck
most lobstermen average $100,000 a year

i figure if i can 50-75 thousand with out a federal permit i would be doing pretty good.

the Crowley comes with 500 traps also. he was asking 75,000 but i think he's going to settle for around 50.. and the engine has 3,500 hours

the young brothers. the guy isn't 100% sure if he wants to sell it or not quite yet. just the boat i think i can get it around 25-30 thousand
10,000 hours on the engine

new traps go for about $60 each
not counting the rope and buoys and other mic. equipment needed
