If you think it's funny, take a look at this website. No threats of
secession but there are some interesting facts. What's most telling is that with the exception of a couple of people I know, the economic problems are almost unnoticeable here. Now I think I know some reasons why.

This is so true, do you have any idea how many rednecks are getting ready to vote.

yea true good info but... texas is not the only state that produces energy. Utah has natural gas and oil too.
And one big thing that y'all didn't mention is POWER hard to do much without power. Utah has some of the biggest coal buring power plants.
More food for thought.
