howcome when you buy a mass storage device, hard drive, usb flash etc...
 

you never get what you completely pay for? i have an external hard drive that is suspose to be 380Gig and the total size when looking at it is like 358ish or so? i bought 2, 8Gig USB thumb drives the other day and both show total size 7.46Gig. my laptop has a 60Gig hard drive but it shows 51.6Gig total? what is the deal? can't these companies be fines for false advertisement?

Yea, it's the driver/OS software. That way you can plug them into any 'puter and not need an install disc.

I figure there's a rule some where that allows them to round up.. Just like my 700 polaris sportsman. It's advertised 700 but in reality It's just over 650ish. Just my 2 pennys
