This Is Why I Do It
I've spent most of my life workin with kids and animals, mostly horses. I was the Assistant Education Coordinator for our local zoo for a while years ago putting on shows and demonstrations with the animals for school field trips. I spent years giving riding lessons and having an open invitation to any and all kids to visit the barn and spend time with the horses and as of a couple years ago getting involved with a local Therapeutic Riding Program working with Physically, Emotionally and Developmentally Disabled children and adults. I've been asked a thousand times why I donate so much time and effort to this stuff and I never know how to answer it. It's not somethin I could explain but I was sent a story that sums it up better then anything I have ever come across because we see examples just like this every time we start new sessions up and get a new group of riders.
