Default credit report?

Has anyone ever done a credit report on themselves? I just di and found out that I have had a credit card since 2003 that I didnt know about. there has never been a dime spent on it. I am going to have to look into that issue and get it fixed.

Same here. It is a good idea to do it at least once a year with all 3 of the major reports.
Mine even had my dad's stuff on it. That was a pain to straighten out, especially since he had been decesed for 5 years.

I could only imagine what kind of headache that could have been.

Thankfully it was nothing bad, but yes it was a nightmare. Especially when they take it off, then you check it 6 months later and it is back. Then you have to go through the whole mess again. That whole system is very strange.

Credit checks only show up if you actually apply for credit or a credit line. If it's just a credit check for offers or personal then it won't show up as an inquiry.

I did one on myself a few years back and it was very interesting. Although my credit is good there was a card there that I never applied for and then there were other things that had been closed or completed but were still on there from years back.

Although likely different in Canada, this is a very important thing to do for yourself.

Ya I guess I got a loan for a truck when I was 12 according to mine, but there was nothing negative about it so I left it on there.
