DeWalt 18v batteries?
I have a 1/2 inch dewalt 18v drill with the standard 18v nicd battery, i have seen now there is a NANO 18v pack, Lipo battery... is this correct? will it work in place of my nicd battery?

I do not think that they are interchangeable, but I am not 100% sure.

I dont think it would work - looks like a different shape - plus the charger wouldnt work either. If you are buying 2 new batteries plus a charger - youy may as well buy a whole new drill.
Are your batteries the regular ones or the XRP's?? You might be able to get away with the XRP's. |

Isn't that the truth. I just did that not to long ago I needed a couple new batteries and they wanted $119.00 for 2. I found a really sweet right angle 18v drill with 2 batteries and charger on sale for $159.00. I figured that drill was worth having for 40 bucks:U: It comes in handy:U: |
XRP and the nicd batteries are interchangable.
|
mine is the non XRP, what is the difference betweent he XRP and the standard nicd? I absolutely love my drill.. hard to believe that dewalt is making 36volt now... pretty soon it will be 110 volt cordless?:wacko2:

XRP's are extended run time - still Nicad though.
|
I found 2 XRP batteries with a charger for $110 on ebay.

I have several Dewalts, both regular and xrp's and we mix the batteries up all the time, so I would think if it's interchangeable with the xrp you should be fine with regular ones too.
