Brass quality?
 

question on brass quality
I am looking at purchasing some 223 and want to get quality brass to reload, I was trying to get some Federal xm193 with Lake city brass but supplies are drying up and those that do still have it are pretty high. My question has anyone ever reloaded with any of the following bras PMC, FIOCCHI, or Sellier& Bellot?



If any one knows where I can get the Federal xm193 for around 350.00/1000 let me know. Thanks

Those are all excellent quality brass manufacturers... Fiocchi or S&B would be the better of the 2. They aren't quite as well controlled as say Lapua brass, but they are good stuff.

This stuff has to be for match grade ammo right? Cause I shoot cheap steel cased crap for the range if I'm just plinking.

Not match grade, I want to reload and I don't care for steel case( normally corrosive)

Well, not all steel cased ammo is corrosive, only the lacquer covered crap is, or the stuff with the old corrosive primers. If you're just reloading to plink around with, and not looking for precision ammo, look for Remington, Winchester, Federal, Hornady, hell even brass cased Wolf will do you fine.

Now if you were going for match grade stuff for a target shoot, I'd go with premium Lapua brass, but thats just me. They keep everything so consistent its amazing.

I've reloaded once-fired PMC brass in .30-06 on my single-stage RCBS Rock Chucker. Seemed to be good quality brass with no trouble at all concerning case stretching, case-head expansion or neck cracks after resizing.
