so i got me a plasma cutter

for Valentines day i bought myself this Plasma Cutter it was on sale for $649 plus i had a 20% off coupon and i bought the 1 year free replacement plan for $73. i was kind of skeptical at first on the quality since it was from Harbor Freight but this thing kicks some major ass. it blows through 1/4-3/8 steel like a knife in butter. it takes a bit to get use to it but this thing is a blast to use. i should have bought one of these years back and i would have saved myself SOOOOOO much time. anyway i just wanted everyone to know that not everything from Harbor Freight is junk.... just some of it.

Here's the link imbedded in his paragraph: Harbor Freight Tools - Quality Tools at the Lowest Prices

BTW, do they need compressed gas/air to operate.

I bought a Miller plasma cutter a few years back and it works great......I rarely use my gas torch any more.

akguppy : Mine needs clean filtered shop air to function.

Northern tool makes one that is almost identical. I've been eyeing it up for a while but like you I was skeptical because of the price. :humm::humm:

Awesome. Thanks for the heads up Ben. I was eyeing that one and this one in the Northern Tool Catalog. Had you ever used s plasma cutter before now? Was it hard to figure out how to use it? Ive only ever used the old school torches..

Nice! We used to have an old ESAB at the shop... Beat the snot out of torches or recip saws. You can actually stencil with the darn things. They are that tight with a kerf.
