Microsoft Download Problems

The other night Microsoft did an automatic security download on my computer, Windows XP Pro, and now it's all jacked up. Just wondering if anybody else is having the problem. The mouse isn't workin right, the keyboard isn't workin right and the computer has a delayed action everytime I try to do anything. It sit's for a few seconds before anything will happen.

I did have this same problem a while back and I just gotta remember how i resolved it. I was able to undo that update basically and restore the previous setting...under control panel i believe....

To do a system restore, use the following steps:

Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools -> System Restore

It will ask you to pick a prior date to restore too. It should reset your computer to the previous settings, and it will not delete any work you've done in the mean time.

Thanks to all who replied here. Nikki, I'll give it a shot as soon as I get caught up on current events here. For somebody like me this is dangerous territory you got me headin into here. Just in case it all goes South I wanna be caught up before I do it.

I Just keep pushin the mouse button and eventually it will do something, be it the 1st try or the 20th try. Some times the keyboard types, other times I look up at the screen and nothin I just got done typing out is there. Move the icon around and keep hittin keys, eventually it takes off. This is maddening.

That is actually one of the easiest "fixes" for a computer. After you pick a restore date it basically does the rest on it's own and will reboot the computer. All should be back to the way it was before when you are done. Let me know how it works out. If that doesn't fix it I can ask my techs at work.
