Snakes Make Money

4 Attachment(s)
Figured I would post this over here give some insight on how I make mone from snakes.

- I am going to bring up a list of a couple morphs of snakes that I have and so you how much I sell them for.
- Normal BP goes for $35 at a show $65 Pet Store $45 Internet
- Pastel BP $100 to $400
- Pewter BP $1000 to $2500
- Clown BP $4000 to $6500
- Spyder BP $200 to $400
- Albino BP $500 to $1200
- Ghost BP $300 to $600
- Cinnamon $400 to $600

That’s just a few of them. That I have now when you cross breed them say the Clown and a Pastel and they produce a Pastel Clown that’s a $8500 snake. Many more I can list just trying to make this short and simple.

I can also go into about Het’s and Co Dom’s but just giving a run down.

Now feeding and housing I run rack setups which are cheap and you can build them yourself heat them by heat tape. I breed the mice All you need to do is go to the local pet shop and buy about Ten get them to breed they are like Rabbits. I check all my snakes twice a day takes about 5 minutes make sure cages are clean and have water. Feeding all of them takes me about 30 minutes throw a mouse or rat in a enclosures and let them eat.

There is also other consideration say if you are selling to a pet shop a reptile show or over the internet to a private bidder. Most of my sells are at shows cause it’s cheaper for transport compared to shipping a snake.

Here are some pictures of Snake Racks Mouse and Rat Racks and some Snake with Prices.

Pie Bald BP $2500 & UP
Attachment 53894
Paradox Albino $5000 & UP
Attachment 53895
These are just some examples I have a friend that comes in and takes care of them when I am away I give him free Rodents and Some normals for him taking his time to do so.

There is a really big industry for this and make great money. Albino Gators go for $80,000 some BP have gone for $100,000 I can list everything that I know of and what not but that would take over two pages of run down.

Hope This helps out a little bit.

I like them and they make me extra money. There is a really big market for Exotic animals.

Red_Rattler 02-12-2009 10:50 PM

Ha yea extra money is always a plus! But I'll stick with my yellow lab, thats "exotic" enough for me lol

Don't think that one was dead, unless they shot it for trying to eat the camera man lol

The Exotic Animal Market is really big. I mean the biggest BP is the Banana clown and when it was first produced it was listed at $120,000 Grand There is 11 of them. Thats $1,320,000 if all the snakes sold at that price. not bad when all you got to do is have some fun with snakes.

cbrahs 02-12-2009 11:10 PM

hey Speaksup

I have a good friend of mine here in town that has an exotic pet store.

Subterranean Jungle

She is cool (even though she is my ex lol)... I go in there and she trys to get me to handle the snakes and I am like HELL NO!

I bought her first Frilled Dragon for her. I still have visitation rights to him! LOL

SPEAKSUP 02-12-2009 11:20 PM

Frilled Dragons are cool My sweetest Dream is have a Diesel/BAR/Petshop and the house within walking distance but far enough that no one is going to park in my living room lol

cbrahs 02-12-2009 11:31 PM

ya she has i think 4 or 5 of them now. I go over and give them baths and hold em. I like them a lot! She has all sorts of stuff there. although biz has been stupid slow for her. maybe you guys could help each other sell goodies

SPEAKSUP 02-12-2009 11:45 PM

Whats her name Im sure she is on kingsnake.com - the information portal for reptile and amphibian hobbyists. where the classifieds I might have taled to her. Theres a new law trying to pass to ban selling reptiles over state lines like they did with Bears and Tigers.

cbrahs 02-12-2009 11:46 PM

Heather is her name

SPEAKSUP 02-12-2009 11:51 PM

Ill see if she has some Adds on kingsnake and look for her store. Maybe she would do some trades :pca1:

cbrahs 02-12-2009 11:53 PM

let me know if you can't find her. I know she is on that site all the time. subjungle.net is her website i think

SPEAKSUP 02-13-2009 12:01 AM

Cool thanks man I will see if she is up to trade anything I could get rid of about 35 normals. Maybe she has some other things to trade. One thing people dont know the pet market is a big market.

akguppy 02-13-2009 12:46 AM

Damn, that's a lot of dough for a snake. Wouldn't take you long to make some serious cash at $1000+ a pop. Do they ever get to stretch out? I think they'd get tired of being cramped-up in those tubs. So, when you "breed your own mice" how do you keep from tearing their little vaginas?

:humm: :tttt:

SPEAKSUP 02-13-2009 01:10 AM

Yes it is really easy to make some money like this their is plenty of places bringing in Millions of dollars to themselves. This is without a pet shop Kevin at NERD makes like every bit in the 3 Million mark I would assume a year he has a shop sells fish snakes dogs and deals in exotic snakes.

Rodents are real easy to get along. Snakes have plenty of room to stretch scientifc studies have found that they actualy like it better in the smaller areas with no lights they feel more secure less stress on the animals. They have planty of room to stretch out if they want. :U:

Wanna make me a deal on a spyder?? I've been hooked on em since the first time i've seen one.

My BP "cupcake" just got tore up by a rat last week. First one she wasn't able to handle so i was a little worried. I usually just drop em in and it's over in a few minutes. Not this time.

I walked outside for a few minutes and when i came back in there was blood all over the sides of the tank! The rat got his arse wooped and so did she but she wouldnt eat him. She's doin ok now but still wont eat. I'll giver her a break and try again next week.

SPEAKSUP 02-18-2009 09:21 PM

I can work on a Spyder. Give the BP another week more like two annother thing you should try is Pre Killed smack the Rats head before you throw it in the tank they wont fight they just twitch and have body tempature gives the BP everyting they need to strike.:U:

akguppy 02-18-2009 10:49 PM

Gosh wouldn't PETA enjoy this thread.

SPEAKSUP 02-18-2009 11:05 PM

You think that I care about those hypocrites in PETA they wont no animals ith people. They don't believe in anything involved by animals. Which one of the top dogs over there is a Diabetic they make insulin with the use of horses that makes her a hypocrite:ph:

SmokinPiney 02-19-2009 05:45 AM

Im gonna try a pre killed next week. Give him a smack and see what happens. She usually won't go after food unless it's movin but, im sure she's extra hungry and out for revenge now haha. :pca1:

SPEAKSUP 02-19-2009 08:47 PM

Don't smack it to kill it smack it to make it dizzy barely moves that type or whatever is your choice.

SmokinPiney 02-20-2009 03:54 PM

Gotcha :ok1: I need a pet store closer to home. The closest one with mice/rats is
45 mins away

SPEAKSUP 02-21-2009 03:00 AM

Start breeding your own man it's what I do. Just by a couple put them in a ten gallon tank. Let nature take it's course. Pretty easy and cost effective.

SmokinPiney 02-21-2009 08:11 AM

Thought about it but i only have one snake (for now) so i really don't need that many rodents makin whoopie in my house. :choochoo:

SPEAKSUP 02-21-2009 08:27 PM

Just one tank is ll you need. My brother has one BP a huge 6 Footer over 2000 Grams he has a Tank setup with Two Rats lets them grow nd feeds them. Give the kids something to play with also. He just tells them they escaped. lol

7.3 Cowboy 02-21-2009 08:53 PM

WOW I had no idea there was such a market for snakes. A nice way to make some BOMB money.
