NO !!!! Since the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA became a nation. Our money has said IN GOD WE TRUST, AS A NATION UNDER GOD, our money should still have that saying !!!

I like the phrase just because it's a pun on the term "trust". Historically, religious people (like Teddy Roosevelt) have been against the phrase on currency because of it's irreverance; it's ironic that it now passes as a display of "our genuine faith". I'd sure hope we'd find religion in places other than coins...

But it was first used in the national anthem 50 years before it was used in any of our money, and it wasn't "officially" a motto until 50 years ago.

I don't think we should have an "official" motto; if something is truely our motto, there's no need to make it official.

But I don't think it should go anywhere, nor would I be upset if it did go away.

HEY Begle, So you really don't care if it stays or if it's remove, your just sitting on the fence ???

I really don't care about the phrase "In God We Trust". I'd rather worry about ridiculous deficit spending and rampant overgrowth of federalism.

Gay marriage, abortion, "In God we Trust", the death penalty, et cetera aren't worth the time for debate.

I think it should stay on the coins... and that's all I'm gunna say

Nitelord 01-20-2009 03:41 PM

Yeah, I think it should stay too.:U::U::U:

Well with all the people trying to push God out of everything..schools, federal buildings, money.. etc It is no wonder why the world is going to hell.

More people should embrace God instead of trying to get rid of him.

That is all I'm going to say on this subject matter.
