.357 revolver for $300?

What kind of options would I have if I was looking to buy a .357 revolver for less than $300?

Looking to buy used; I'm in Arizona, which as far as I can tell means any non-felon over the age of 18 can legally buy a handgun. Looking for a gun that will hold up to the occasional day of shooting and that I can keep for home defense, not really interested in resale value or carriability, and I'm sure that it wouldn't take much of a precision machine to be more accurate than I am.

I don't really care for them, but for that price, probably a Taurus since they aren't much over that new. Crap for resale and hit & miss reliability, but it'll probably go bang every time you'd need it to for what your intended use is.

Ruger Security Six is a good one....can be found cheap used.

Older S&W's, especially the infamous "police trade ins" which are drying up but can be found for good prices as well.

There are others, but the list would be really long, and some are complete trash in that range.

If you wanted to step up to the $400 range you could get a whole plethora of high quality guns.

Anything in particular you've had your eye on?

CDNN has the police trade in, I like the SMITH & WESSON:yeah:and RUGERS are:ok1: I had a TAURUS, and it wasn't as accurate as I like.

HEY Begle, Did you buy the 357 magnum revolver ????????:humm:

You can't go wrong with the Ruger Security 6 or the SP100. I'm sure you could find a S&W 640, but it will be a bit more....

I think that must be federal law now. When I was in MT I still couldn't buy pistol ammo at 18 :argh:

So, I had to get my booze and ammo from the same person :w2:

personally I think it's dumber than hell that I can go buy rifle rounds that can pick somebody off from 200 yds but I can't get lowly 38 special rounds... wtf...:argh::argh::argh:
