Default The art of conversation....

Well, I've always been a quiet guy, kept a lot to myself etc etc...never really "liked" to talk, seemed like a waste of energy some day so needless to say, while trying to pick up the ladies, the inevitable awkward silence always arises...it's killed chances before. So...wtf do people talk about all day long? You can only talk about the weather, work and world news for so long so how in the hell do you keep a convo going? Internet BS is easy, you get to sit there and think about something to say for sec, then type away..if your not happy, you don't press enter and you redo it... So, how do I take this from the keyboard to the realworld? BTW I hate faking interest or having someone else fake interest in a subject...I need something real to work with...It could be that I'm just too opinionated on some things (or most) but dats gist da way I is....

Sage Advice!

CAUTION! Only use this advanced technique if you are EXTREMELY emotionally balanced, or you may end up feeling a bit like this

Who am I kidding? You'll probably feel like that regardless! Hehe! GOOD LUCK, Man!!

The listening part I'm good at, its the "unspoken rule" that you have to have a response when she stops talking that is the trouble

Well, you were supposed to learn this stuff in school. Granted they didn't teach it, but that's where you learn it the easiest. I would recommend you make it a point to carry on conversations with random strangers, doesn't have to be anyone in particular. Try talking to people when your standing in line at the grocery store, or talk to the cashier. Nobody's going to kill you for trying to talk to them, I think anyways. Once you get proficient at talking to complete strangers, talking to girls you like is a cakewalk.

One thing I never do when talking to complete strangers is correct them, even if it's the stupidest thing coming out of their mouth. It's funner to listen to them carry on about something false than it is to argue with them.

Remember also that girls don't want to hear about you, they want you to give them the chance to tell you about themselves. So, when you hit an awkward pause ask them something about what they've already told you. Oh, and always make eye contact no matter who you're talking to, it says so many negative things about a person when they don't look you in the eye while talking or listening.

Women like confidence and even cockyness to a certain point. So always try to look at them when you talk to them but not in a creepy way and when they ask you about yourself be to the point with your answer and revert it back to them as everyone else seems to agree they love to talk about themselves.

They love compliments about how nice their hair and shoes are because its usually only girls who notice that kind of stuff on other girls. Try not to go too much into complimenting there physical appearance because no matter how much time and effort they put into their appearance women also want to be noticed for their brains too, well the ones that actually have any brains do. Also talk about something you both have an interest in and if she starts explaining something you know about let her finish and pretend you learnt something.

I think the most important thing that you need to start with is to be confident in yourself, without that a its pretty much a lost cause. When your confident its seems to intrigue them especially if you get blown off right off the bat, dont take it personally just say sorry to bother you and move on and dont ever approach them again, cause alot of the time they start to wonder why it didnt seem to bother you at all that you were totally turned down and they end up coming back to talk to you.

To help build that try going into a store and talking to strangers as Matt said and even try getting womens numbers even if you just intend throw it away. Its good practice, takes the pressure off and you can also see what tactics other ppl use for conversation.

Remember keep the conversation on her and keep the topics broad like school/work, family, hobbies/sports, that way you can find out the most about thier personalities and this will help you bring up conversation that she is more interested in and when you stay on the right topics it helps build more of a connection and only keeps the things you have in common on the plate and if you steer things in the right directions you wont have to worry about keeping the convo going she will do all the work.

Hope this wasnt too long as I added a couple things and may have also repeated myself but I also hope it helps some.
