Default Painting a AR15

Well, today while out and about we found Krylon Camouflage spray paint at the local Wallly*World, but they only make it in 4 colors, Olive, Khaki, Brown and Black Poke Here

So, the question is, do ya think a AR painted with those colors in a broom straw pattern would turn out very well for this area:

Don't camo it too well, if you drop it you'll lose it for ever.

Have it dipped. Much better than paint and looks like you want it to. I have done several shotguns and bows and it wears like iron.

Use the OD as the base color, then tan over the pattern you want to use.
I like the laundry bag mesh pattern, myself.

Picked up 4 cans of Krylon fusion (3 camo and 1 flat sand/rock) the other day. Might go out and get some tumbleweed to use instead of straw & see what that looks like on a ammo can or something.

Marine, that's a sweet looking poodle shooter ya got there, but it's just to dark for my tastes & I'm not a big fan of that pattern as it's so symmetrical, want something more random that will blend in better with the prarie.

While WallyWorld does carry the camo Krylon, you do not have to limit yourself to those choices. Wally World has other colors in Krylon (especially the Fusion which is great for plastics) and matte or satin clear. Pick any color you want in gloss, satin or otherwise, and then just shoot it with the matte clearcoat. You need to use the clear anyway to add the protection factor to your colors. Lowes also has a great selection of Valspar paints, especially earth tones. Between the two stores, you should have no problem getting the right shade of tan/brown/green/gray to do the job. I just started one of mine using the green and black color scheme. I will be doing another using the desert tones. Hope this helps!
