The gov should give us a few thou to party with!!

The government should give all us regular tax-payers a few thou to party with, since they threw way more than that to AIG, and :ph: AIG :ph::ph: will have no penalties for partying away our money! So, maybe the gov should fund all us regular folk a nice party! Then instead of calling them our government, we can call them our "Party-ment" ! :madd:

I can't say I don't disagree with you - If we're going to reward them for running their business into the ground and then giving them a second chance.
You know, they've already ran it into the ground; unless they showed a new business plan or blew out some CEO's what makes you think they're not going to just do it again... they didn't get it right when it was on their dime; why would they try harder on ours?
THEN they get to go on vacation and party out in the OPEN that they BONED us and got away with it...
I would have much rather upping the FDIC insurance up to 500k or something useful TO THE PEOPLE. :argh:

I'm not serious about the gov funding parties, I'm angry that we funded AIG and then they threw a big party. It's just f---in' ridiculous. I didn't really want to spend my money to foot the bill for someone elses party, and I'm guessing I'm not the only one who feels this way. aaarrrggg!!!!

Jasondt2001 10-10-2008 10:24 AM

No I totally caught your drift, I kinda took it off topic though:argh:
I read about that AIG thing, it was something like 426K wasn't it?
I hope they had fun, I really think they should be brought up on charges. :bat:
On another note, just think about what it's doing to their company's reputation and the public's outlook on them? Great business move there part...huh? Idiots.
I know I wouldnt buy crap from them now, I wonder how many others feel the same way.

I actually had our commercial insurance through them for a couple of years. They are near impossible to deal with from a service standpoint.

They have been spending a good amount of money of sporting events recently.

$426k for a freaking party? I wasn't aware of that. That had to be the party of a lifetime... having a party that's all funded for by the american people to celebrate that they had to have help in order to keep their doors open.

Here ya go, if you're having a good day don't read it - it'll piss you off! AIG takes $122.8 billion of taxpayer money, enjoys luxury resorts - BloggingStocks

I waited til Monday to look at this article -why ruin a good weekend!

LOGANSTANFORTH 10-14-2008 03:13 AM

Something about all of this ought to be criminal... lots of people need to be fired, and many people need to go to prison. (But, not some prison camp with tennis and racquetball pro on staff.) :argh:

stkdram55 10-14-2008 08:58 AM

Now if we can get the people that run this country (Its supposed to be us the people but the Politicians have different ideas)to sell their stocks in these companies we might have a fighting chance:argh:

I had Dinner with my district Representitive Del. Bill Carrico Last week and he actually said that what is sad is that if we SMALL business owners out there ran our companies the same way that these larger ones are getting bailed out for then we WOULD be charged with nothing short of embezzlement!!! It is stealing, I don't care how they say it!!! And the Gov still bails them out, but will not give me a dime to help me out when I need the money to expand or something!!! But they will surely take about 60% of my revenue in taxes every quarter!!!:bat: It is this reason that caused the founding fathers to rebel in the first place!!! They say that the difference now is that we have representation in the Gov, but with the current Gov, I do NOT feel represented!!!:madd:

stkdram55 10-14-2008 10:54 AM

Exactly brother this is exactly the kind of stuff the caused us to go for independence from Britain in the first place....10 more years of this stuff and we better get our guns ready:choochoo::choochoo:

Right!!!

This should be investigated (but by who?) and not just AIG, although they threw the big party they're a good place to start. The other company's having our taxes poured into their pockets should be looked at too.

solarwarp 10-14-2008 01:21 PM

Politicians come from the same thread as mega-CEO's... they all handle someone elses money.

Me on the other hand, can embezzle anything that I want from my company, because it is my company, not the money of investors or taxpayers.

bigdaddydiesel 10-14-2008 01:28 PM

That is me too I guess, I have NO investors other than myself, so I guess I am the only one I would be stealing from, but when you have to have shareholder meetings because there are so many, and you still do it then you should definitely have to account for it all, especially with ANY company that gets any kind of kickback tax brakes from the gov...

And as far as getting the Guns ready, they better be ready now!!! IMO we are headed down that road already!!!:bat:
JustTRY to come and mess with my family and see what happens:bat:
