Anyone From British Columbia

anyone live in sourthern british columbia i want to know if my truck will be legal to drive up there in november

Dr. Evil 09-22-2008 01:04 AM

What do you mean legal?

As long as you have a license, a registration, and proof of insurance you should be good. How much does your truck smoke?? You may want to detune a bit so you wont draw extra attention to yourself..

ya were going on a trip to fairmont hotsprings first of november and taking my truck i think its somewere north of nelson not sure but trail for sure. my tires stick out past the fenders a little bit, it does smoke alot with how many mods i got but i can control that with the go pedal and a crap load of lights, if that dont draw attention i dont know what will, anything else i should know

Old Pigiron 09-24-2008 09:53 AM

They might hassle you a bit with the tires sticking out a bit, but I doubt it. They are more lax at Trail and Nelson compared to Vancouver/ Lower Mainland area, and everyone up near Trail/Nelson has some kind of 4x4, due to the harsh winters they have. Beautiful country up there. Enjoy your trip and Canada and quaff down some good ol Canadian Beer while you're up here.:c:

I think youll be fine as long as you keep the smoke under control.

Most cops wont give a ticket (especially to someone from a different country) unless you are doing something bad or have an unsafe vehicle. My brother lives in the US...he brought his motorcycle up when he was home. He was pulled over because his license plate was hard to see (under the seat on a Yamaha R1). The cop told him "I would give you a ticket but you probably wouldnt pay it anyway" - he said "youve got that right".

If you are going to Fairmont - make sure you check out Radium Hot Springs as well - its only 22 miles north.

i know were staying at ainsworth hotsprings for a couple nights like nov 7th and 8th cant miss me thats for sure, what about 0% limo tint, would they say anything about that

rubberfish 10-07-2008 08:51 AM

They can't/won't do shit about your tint. You're an
out of province vehicle. It's kind of like the front
license plate thing. You can't get a ticket here
if you're not required to have them where you live.

You're not going to be the only truck in B.C. with
tinted windows, big tires and blowing black smoke.
So come on up and enjoy your visit. :c:
