Played a 4 man scramble , I was the C player but Did Awesome won near pin on 11 and was 6" away from the pin on a 165 yard par 3 (no Skins) just about a hole in one , I have and Old Taylor Made Burner used it on the front then borrowed an R7 Taylor made off of a team mate and gained 50 Freggin yards on the next 5 Drives , Put it this way the r7 is Still in my bag :hd:, We shot -4 and came in 4th of 20 winner was -7 and 2 teams came in -5 , We had 2 bogeys , And missed an eagle putt , We used 15 of my shots and 6 of the D players

Sounds good, I need to come up there and play, all the 4 mans here end up with the winning team shooting a 62-59.

How much did you buy the R7 for?

If you have a fast swing speed try the Hyper X Tour driver with stiff shaft. I gained 20 yards on my drives just by changing to that driver and consistently hit 320 now. :hd:

Thats why we plan our 4 man scrambles based on the best overall shooters and putters. We dont just divide the players by an A, B, C, D player but also by handicap, driving and putting.

It takes lots of practice and learning how to correct your mechanics. Keep in mind Chad that most of us who shoot in the 70's and low 80's have been playing golf since we were kids. Becoming a good golfer doesn't happen over night and is usually a progression for many years. Once you break 100 you'll be completely addicted. Get someone to analyze your stroke help you correct the mechanics of your swing. When you start understanding what you're doing wrong the battle gets much easier. :up2: Lemme give ya some encouragement. Over 85% of golfers never break 100 so just being able to do it puts you in the top 15% of golfers. Being able to break into the 80's puts you in the top 10%, breaking into the 70's or better puts you in the top 5%, and shooting under...well...we all know who does that and they are in the 1%. :)

The easiest way to cut 15 strokes off your score is becoming better with the flat stick, if you can 2 putt 15 holes rather then 3 putt 18 you save 15 strokes a round. That 105 becomes a 90 and you still hit it only 250 off the box. 250 is not that bad, I use a 3 iron off of every box (even the par 5) and aim for 250 rather then trying to hit it 350 and leave myself and in between shot. Plus I know my 3 iron is going left to right and most of the time is center to right center, rather then hitting a driver that is going to be most likely the right side of the fairway.

Also if you aim your approach shot to the center of the green rather then at the pin, you will have a better chance of putting it in in 2, most amateur golfers aim at the pin but very few have the distance control to get in close enough to matter.

In high school we had to practice 20 hours a week on the greens, that was after a round so we could fix what was wrong during the round. We played 18 holes 3 times a week and 9 holes once. We had no choice but to play, our grades depended on it.

I suck now though, I was a low to mid 70's guy for about 12 years before 2 knee surgeries and multiple back procedures. Now I suck for the first 3 holes until I loosen up, good for the middle 10, decent for a couple and worn out by the end of the round. I like to play but have not in over 6 months, I am in too much pain for atleast a week after one round which makes it not worth it.

If you want to have a ton of fun playing golf. Walk and have a beer a hole, by the time you make the turn the shots get worse, it makes your game much more fun and it gives you an excuse to stink.
