Went to :
Mammoth Cave - New Entrance Tour Dinosaur World Kentucky Down Under Kentucky Caverns Gun Town Mountain Hidden River Cave Magic Mountain on the way home Out of all the people i was picked out of the crowd to be in the magic show at gun town mountain , and i was picked to be the sheep rancher at KDU , got to sit a sheep that was fun anyone ever set a sheep before? Chase got to Feed a baby sheep and put it back in the stall by him self , fed a pig and a goat also , we watched a Border collie herd some sheep that was cool , Kentucky Down under was probably the most entertaining thing we did the whole time got to pet kangaroos and all shorts of stuff like that even paned for gem stones , Mammoth cave was a 2 hour walk under ground pretty bad ass !! we spent less than $1,000 total on 2 days including the hotel and fuel admittion to the attractions was insane like over $60 for us to get in . But it was a fun family vacation that didnt break the bank , everything down there is OLD and ran down ... our hotel was pretty lame and so were all the shops we went to , everything was rode hard and put away wet by tourist over the last few hundred years even the resturants , But it was fun , Cave city is exit 53 on i65 , i would stay a few exits further North I seen a Hampton inn if we go back thats where we will stay . Wikipedia says the avg. income in cave city is like $25,000 per house hold so thats what you can exspect when you get there |

We have started looking into renting cottages at KOA campgrounds when we go out of town. The are about the same as a hotel room per night but comes with a kitchen, living room, etc. and usually sleep 4 - 6 people. The only thing is that you have to bring your own sheets and towels.
I've looked at several campgrounds around here and a lot of the provide pics of the actual cottages online. Not a bad alternative if you ask me... Especially if the hotels in the area are crappy. Glad you guys had a good time! It sounds like a lot of fun!!! |
