Nice man! Can I send you my 82 T/A and let ya do some magic? lol
:w2: That sucker is looking nice! |
how come you dont show anything about the brake conversion you did to it........
|
Looks nice, but wouldn't a cold air intake do better than the open element air filter sucking in the hot air under the hood?

im trying to find a factory air cleaner to out on there as for the 5 lug conversion i didnt have my camera so couldnt take any pics OR ..... im thinking about using a carb hat then running piping to the fenderwell. home made cold air http://i13.ebayimg.com/01/i/000/b4/ee/ed17_1.JPG |
home made short sweet and to the point, most of the time, by the way nice car :run:
|
Keep us updated, nice car!!! Can't wait to see it finished!!! :U::U::U:
|
so are all the internals of the engine stock, stock rotating assy, stock cam, valvetrain etc.

hey how bout putting 460 under that instead of that little 302. just get some heavier springs and that would be a cool little street machine
|
to heavy on the front, will cause to much oversteer(which is bad from the factory) for what im building it for.
im not a big fan of 460s, they belong in a boat. ive seen many small block fords get into the 6's in the 1/8, but like i said this car is being built for the corners |
sounds like itll be a fun ride when its all done......but why rebuild the top end (intake etc.) if your gonna just tear it all back down again and re rebuild it.....
|
i dont know, thats how ive always done it.

That looks like a REALLY fun project.
What all do you need to do to convert to a V8? Do you just replace the whole subframe or do you just replace certain parts of the original subframe? Did you replace the interior parts or just repaint them? |

i replaced the dash pad with a black oem remake from dashes direct, i replaced the seats with one out of a 93gt but they will be recover black, there a few other things on the inside i replaced.
as for the v8 swap... you can use the factory sub frame since everythings the same. but you do have to change out the wiring, fuel lines, and trans and trans x-member to make it run. i also changed replaced the 4cyl springs with cut eibach springs and will be changing the rear end from a 7.5 to a 8.8 with 3.73 gears and adding a bigger radiator. but other that its a pretty simple thing to do. but this isnt my first swap. ---AutoMerged DoublePost--- i put my MSD pro-billet dist in today with the ford racing black wires for a factory look and a dist. boot to add to the factory apperance. im not sure id wanna have a rubber boot covering parts on such a nice lookin engine...
|
yea it is a shame to cover up a nicely ploished distributor, i may not run it after i get everything on it.
