:argh:- And Thats How I Feel About Now.
Trying To Set Up The New Emails For My Company, The New Advertisements Are Launched Monday With The NEW Emails - Yet None Of Them Really Work. Here Is The Deal. With My Server Email accounts All Set Up With Passwords, Using Outlook As my Client - I Can Successfully Receive Emails, But Cannot Send Them. (Outgoing Server Requires Authenticity [SMTP]) I Have Selected That, Entered My Info But It Still Fails To Send EMAIL!! Attachment 57793 Anyone Have A Clue?? "My Guy" Is Not Available Today |
When you checked the box "My outgoing server (SMPT) requires authentication",
did you also check the box at the bottom of the page: "Log on to incoming mail servere before sending mail? If not, try that. If that doesn't work, you have 2 more options right there... |
Ditch Outlook !
Get Fire Fox w/ Thunder Bird |
I Gotcha, I Tried That Also..
When i Run The "Test" It Says "Log Onto Incoming Mail Server (POP3)": Sucessful Then The Test Email Fails With The Error Message From Above. When I Require Logon Using SPA - It Fails The Log On.. There Is Gotta Be A Setting I Am Missing. Elsewhere. I Already Configured Outlook With My Server. ... Would The Fact That I Don't Use Exchange Be An Issue??? |

your outgoing and incoming have to have the same server.. its one is pop3 the other has to be too.. try that thats how i got mine to work.
|
try this for S&G's....
on the outgoing mail server it prolly looks something like this smtp.yere-mailsuffix.com try doing whoever yer service provider is. smtp.alltel.net (or whoever you have) i have to do that at a friends house and he has a different ISP than me. dono why but i got to do it there and at a few of the hotels i stay at....... try that and let me know if that works. also are you using a pop.whatever.com on the incoming and smtp.whatever.com on the outgoing? or mail.whatever.com on both? i have pop accounts that use either of those setups. just wandering what yer using. |

True.. I'll Call You Robin
|
I will check mine tonight when I get home. I had the same issue.
Incoming was POP3, outgoing was SMTP w/security. I know there's button they (ISP) had be select, but I need to be in front of the PC to tell you what it says. :U: |
That Would Be Great - That Way i Don't Have To Go Through My ISP.
|
Here is what I did.
Open Outlook
Tools menu Select Accounts Select mail tab Select properties button Select Servers tab Outgoing mail server - check (my server requires auth.)<this is what I was missing> Settings button - select use same settings as incoming mail server Select Advanced Tab Confirm settings.... Outgoing SMTP - port 25 incoming POP3 - port 110 The other thing you need to check is that the web based mail (ISP) usernames match the account you are setting up in Outlook. Let me know how you make out. Hope this fixes your mail. :U: |
yea thats what i meant too...:)
