Having Problems Bleeding New Master Cylinder... Please Help!!

I'm gettin ready to set fire to this car. I bought my new clutch master cylinder for my ricer cause I can't afford the $4.00 diesel anymore. I can't get it to bleed down at the slave cylinder. Its kinda funny, the line runs over above the top of the resevoir right behind it so IDK if it will gravity bleed because of that. Doin the old pedal trick and closin and openin the valve ain't workin. Went and bought a $35 vacuum pump to bleed it with, but its leaking around the rubber where it goes on the bleeder valve. Is this thing just bein incredibly stubborn or am I doin something wrong or is the new master cylinder no good. Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated. Thanks

Try this. Find a chunk of hose and stick it on the bleeder. Stick the other end into a bottle w/ brake fluid in it. Open the bleeder and pump on it until you think the air is out. Close the bleeder and try the pedal again.

if it were me i would let it bleed itself out over night with the bleed valve slightly craked and the resivoir cap off then see what happens

Could work, but if it doesn't run out, or it runs out completely.:madd::argh:

Well, I think I finally got it. The hose in the bottle kinda worked but what I ended up doin was puttin the hose in the bottle and hooked it to the bleeder screw. Then I took my new $35 vacuum pump and hooked it to the top of the line and pulled fluid all the way through the hose. Hooked everything back up and it finally started bleeding by the normal method of pumpin the pedal. The reason it wouldn't gravity bleed is because the highest part of the line is higher than the top of the resevoir on the master cylinder so it didn't have the head pressure to flow on down. Thanks for the help
