lol You should see what I'm doing now. I'm making a cutting board! This actually kind of cool. I can make just about anything and put logos and pictures in it. The Packer one is just a photo I pulled off the internet and printed it with my printer and embedded it into the polyaspartic and mica chips. My wife thinks I'm crazy, I have way too much fun sometimes:c:

LOL! Sounds like you're having fun with it! Put a picture up when you're done with the cutting board.

You could start making toys, grow a beard, wear pointy shoes, and really get in the spirit of the season. :tttt:

Is mica some kind of rock/stone?
And if so, using it for a cutting board will
ruin a perfectly good knife edge.

Micas are actually metallic sheet silicate minerals. Paper thin and can be cut with a knife or crushed with your fingers. The quartz on the other hand is very hard and would probably be hard on a knife blade. All of my materials are smooth surface with no exposed aggregate to damage knives. You also beat on it with a hammer and not damage it. I'm just playing with this now. I do all sorts of decorative flooring and counters tops with this material. I develop a lot of my own materials (Well my chemist does after I tell him what I want) I've also done driveways that you can drop a blade and plow snow over it! So yeah it's durable. Compressive strength on the quartz has tested out at 12500 psi Concrete is 3500-4000 psi
I'm also looking at using my UV curable coatings as a finish as it is more durable than any Epoxy or Polyaspartic out there and is totally 0 VOC's and FDA approved.

So, you could make a driveway look like that Packer cutting board?? :s: :tttt:

Jazz 12-21-2012 03:18 PM

Actually, Yes! But I wouldn't make it glass like smooth. I don't think anyone would like a driveway that slick! Especially with a little snow on it. :humm: Maybe then I could install new garage doors.:w2: lol
