What you do for fun besides diesels... anybody do any bartering?
 

Just wondering what everyone else did for fun, hobby, side-job, etc.

I do a lot of barter and/or trading out of jobs. Not sure how it would work on the internet... but let's see.

I'll start.

I do automotive detailing as a side job (nothing really to trade out over the internet there....)

I've also been into woodworking (grew up working in a cabinet shop), hunting, and I play a lot of music. Guns, woodworking tools, guitars and detailing supplies that I'd barter for truck stuff.

I do a little hunting in the fall and winter months. Spring and Summer i do a little :q:farming :q:. I only got 8 acres but it has really thick grass on it to run a few cows on. I really enjoy raising beef and seeing just how marbled i can make my own steaks.
I'm a lake bum when i get a chance too.

lets see.... paint and body.... powdercoating.... oddball turbo car tuning..... minimal construction..... working on my lead sled of a truck..... mainly when i don't work i lay around the house doing nothing......

i'm a jack of all trades master of none

play on the net, work on my wrecks or buy more wrecks to work on, watching movies on my big tv and having a beer with the wife, shooting stuff, i dunno. easily entertained.

I spend time with the wife and son. We spend time doing stuff in the yard or doing whatever to improve the house. In the summer months we are either on the lake in the boat or at the reservoir or the river in the canoe,TRYING to catch a fish or two.

lot of work on the yard, do quite a bit of sidework for the extra (tax free) money, little golf, little fishing, and if i get my boat running this year i will probably be on the lake all the time!

I wrench on my jeep or truck for fun, go wheelin in the jeep, or spend time with my wife.. Im waiting to hear back from amsoil, I may become a part time dealer for them here in my area with any luck.

I barter as much as possible.
Right now Im trying to trade some metal fab for some 3rd gen power/heated tow mirrors

I am all into bartering. I would much rather barter than buy something.
I dirtbike and camp, as well as hunt and fish.

I like to hunt and fish, play some basketball, and in the summer I do some gardening with my Dad. Oh and I do some shooting , archery and firearms.

I do all phases of construction at work so play doesn't often consist of those skills...I like fishing, camping...etc...but my favorite is:

im an active part of a voulenteer search and rescue crew/emergency corps crew. based mainly on the mighty mississippi. im a emt-1 and working my way up to a paramedic. im also activly pursing a carrer in criminal justice. bout 60 hours away.
my other hobby is wheelin my heep. my mighyt pos yj-7 im also active on a woods racing team.. technical advisor. basiclly means when someone breaks something on the trail im the one to tell them how to finish the course unless its to badly damagednad get it back to the trailer so i can fix it. i also love camping and bbq and doing anything and everything to get out of the city. im a full time parts advisor/salesman at a local auto parts store.

i aslo enjoy just sitting back and watching movies with teh old lady, and wrenching in the garage...

so yah i keep myself very busy.. so when i disapear for a few dayseither im on a resuce mission or im burned out and disapeareed from the introwebnet.

Diesels are the only fun I have and I don't even have one...........yet.

Ya know, there's no enough hours in a day, days in a week, weeks in a month or months in a year :s: . I enjoy doing all kinds of things outdoors. Depends on the season. Spring , summer and fall pass so fast.
Camping is my big passion. Love to just hookup and go :cp: . Fishing is my second. Nothing like a great Bronze-back river or lake. Then chasing my daughter around watching fast pitch softball.
Winter is time to wrench on the truck and get it ready for the next camping season.
My second job, Ha Ha Ha, is running with the volunteer fire company. I run a lot. Certified everything.
Time is short. Take as much as you can for yourself. :c:
