Do you have a tach? You want to keep the engine below 3100rpm. There isalso a mechanical gov on the top of the motor.

So any definitive info on this issue? I too have a bus with a Detroit Diesel 8.2 that is equipped with an electric governor (Sturdy is the brand on it) - in addition to what I understand is the mechanical fuel pump/governor which sits on top of the block, beneath the air cleaner and behind the water pump? The bus seems to have less power and accelerates/cruises slower than my previous bus which had the same Detroit Diesel 8.2 Pincher Turbo engine, the only difference is that bus had a standard transmission and the new one is automatic.
Regardless, I'd like to remove the electric governor, so any advice on that would be much appreciated. In addition, if anyone has any ideas about addressing my power issues by adjusting the mechanical governor/pump/throttle that would be fantastic. Thanks in advance! |
do you still have the electronic governor?
I have a '88 Chevy B60 Bus & have been looking for one |
