Looking for a DPF equiped Pete in Utah

Hey guys, I have been in contact with a company that makes DPF delete/test systems for the light duty trucks. We are looking at expanding into the larger truck market. I'm currently looking for a truck that is in the southern Utah area that would be willing to let them scan the truck's computer so we can find out what we are up against. They will not be changing anything, they just need to take a look at the system.

I want to start with a Cummins powered Pete because I know we already have a couple logging companies that will be getting them.

If you think you can help, please contact me.

Thanks,
Kenny

Cummins engines just need a few ECM tweaks. They will run indefinitely without a DPF, and with great power, but throw an active CEL.

I've driven a few ISX450 Volvos with the DPF removed entirely, just an open down pipe, and they run fantastic. They also scare the sh!t out of people driving next to it when the engine brake activates! :tu:
I believe most of the difference may be elimination of the old model's 2" choke tube. But as the EGR venturi choked the intake, the DPF now chokes the exhaust. :argh:

So if the loggers aren't worried about a CEL, just build them bypass pipes and let them check for amber codes during the truck's PM service.

Thanks for the feed back. Do you know if the trucks ever tried to go into regen?

No, it set a code (I forget the exact number) for the pressure differential being out of its expected range. I'm sure they would go into a parked or forced regen if you tried, but since the pressure differential is low I doubt it would have any reason to do it on the move.
