My cousin's Kenworth was stolen... Please

My cousin, George Straker. who lives in Tampa, Florida had his entire business stolen late Wednesday night, early Thursday morning of this week.
His specially designed, heavy haul Kenworth, that took 7 mos to build, and his best trailer were stolen from his truck yard in Seffner, Florida. They actually damaged the new trailer too, by improperly detaching from it, to hook to the more maneuverable trailer that they wanted to steal. The trailer they stole was a Fontaine. Please, if you live anywhere in Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Louisana, Texas, or do business as a truck driver up and down the east coast, pleae be on the lookout for this truck. He has a $1000.00 reward for the recovery of it. Below are pictures of his rig. Law enforcement seems to think a Cuban ring is responsible and it may be in the Miami area. Thanks for any help ya'll can give and if you think you spot it, please call the closest law enforcement agency. He just made the final payment on this rig 3 weeks ago and is heartbroken. His business is gone. Attachment 47549 http://i621.photobucket.com/albums/t..._kenworth2.jpg Attachment 47550 Attachment 47551 |

ya that does suck might see him here in arizona i will keep my eyes and ears open :argh::argh:
how can that huge thing be stolen and hidden?
It's really sad to hear that... I hope he will get it back soon! |
doubt it will make it through my part of the country sina, but ill keep my eyes open :tu:
that is real shitty though. hope it turns up in good condition. the truck is probably a different color by now |
prayer's are out up here, tell him good luck, i just had both my trucks broken into the last couple of weeks, it is a crappy feeling.
I will keep an eye out up here, we have 20 tractors on the road, so if any extra competition shows up we would notice :choochoo:

bump to the top so everyone can see.
Huh that sucks the big one... It's def noticable enough that I hope someone will see it. Wonder what their intentions are on stealing it?! Not your typical chop up for parts vehicle
George told Sina on the phone that all indications that they have been given from law enforcement is that it is probably a heavy equipment theft ring out of Miami, and they stole it for use in stealing heavy equipment. FBI told her cousin that most likely, one of two things will happen, the thieves will leave it abandoned after using it for a week or two, or it will never be seen again.
well i guess you need big stuff to steal big stuff, i can't believe there is an "underground" market for that kind of stuff. i wouldn't think that it's something that you could just hook up to and go cruising down the high way and get away easy.
is there any way to get some DOT numbers or a VIN if someone has balls enough to get that close and look at it?
any special markings on the truck? business name? maybe something inconspicuous that the theif might not have removed.... |

bump. to catch thieves. i hope they find it soon
So assuming worst case scenario it's gone forever - won't insurance cover replacement? Is there a huge deductible? Will it affect his premiums?
That really sucks though. I hope he gets it back, that's brutal. That truck probably ran him about $275,000? Stuff like this happens everywhere. They lock up excavators here all the time now so that they can't be stolen. You might be surprised at how easy it is to walk away with heavy machinery. No one expects it. |
all constrution equipment of the same brand uses same key.
all hitachis are same key, same with cat, case, ect. i can go to my case dealer and get a ring of 29 keys for the most common equipment for 40 bucks. only thing that sucks with equipment. |

This is from my cousin's facebook page today.. so since ya'll were trying to help, thought I would repost it here:
George Straker Well....been a week and a day since the equipment was stolen. The window for a safe recovery is closing rapidly. It may be found, but not worth much. Moving on to replacing what was stolen, which will take a couple of months, at least. I GREATLY APPRECIATE all of the kind words, assistance, AND prayers with this situation. IT HAS HELPED! THANK YOU VERY MUCH and WE WILL GET THROUGH THIS and be better on the other side of it. |
dang thieves.:bat:
Did they ever find the truck n trailer??
I hate theives. Ain't nothin worse than a theif.

Pity the fool who try's to steal my rig! Hope the SOB gets what he deserves:ouch: and the truck is returned in good order:rocking:
